Animal Health IT Advanced Analytics team is searching for a data scientist proficient in computer vision and eager to engage in other fields of data science and AI. Our team supports Animal Health across all business areas: research and development, manufacturing, supply chain, commercial and others. This role allows you to work on impactful projects and collaborate with divisional data scientists, building a community that learns, challenges, and inspires each other. Our team is shaping the Animal Health Data Science and AI strategy, serves as a data science and AI community facilitator and helps non-technical colleagues to mature their understanding of data science and AI.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Lead delivery of computer vision, image processing and other machine learning projects

  • Work on technical pilots and feasibility studies of new opportunities to create value, and transition successful pilots to scalable production implementations  

  • Provide precise and timely communication (both verbal and written) & collaboration with diverse stakeholders

  • Understand the business context of the usage of tools created or decisions to be supported and align with stakeholders on expected outcomes

  • Participate in internal professional communities of practice and mentor colleagues to raise artificial intelligence and data science maturity within the company

  • Mentor junior colleagues from technical delivery angle

We seek candidates that combine technical depth with the ability to work collaboratively and create impact. We evaluate candidates on a case-by case basis but appreciate qualifications in quantitative, scientific and technology disciplines such as Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Analytics, Physics, and Bioinformatics. Here is the breakdown of experience/skills/qualification we are looking for:

  • 5 years of relevant working experience in fields related to artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science

  • Understanding of machine learning research landscape in computer vision and ability to review research publications

  • Ability to communicate and express technical viewpoints to senior stakeholders with succinctness and clarity

  • Hands-on code development experience and familiarity with the python scientific computing stacks

  • Knowledge of classical image processing techniques (including libraries as OpenCV), knowledge of deep learning models and experience with related frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, MXNet, etc. is highly appreciated

  • Knowledge with rapid prototyping with Matlab and FIJI/ImageJ

  • Familiarity with developing and deploying within a cloud based infrastructure and services environment is a plus

  • Domain knowledge in pharmaceutical business areas such as research, clinical, manufacturing, commercial and corporate functions is a plus

  • Full stack web application development and UX experience and understanding is non-essential but beneficial

  • Master or PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Computer Vision, Image processing highly preferred
