Lead AI Governance Specialist 

Within the Enterprise AI Center of Excellence (AI COE), the Lead AI Governance Specialist is responsible for assisting with the design and implementation of the AI governance framework for TIAA and its affiliates.  This Lead AI Governance Specialist is required to partner with stakeholders across disciplines to design and deliver process, procedures, and control improvements that enable TIAA to leverage AI responsibly to drive business value and adoption.  

In this role, the Lead AI Governance Specialist will be responsible for participating in the design and deployment of the AI governance framework, including Responsible AI Policy, Standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and guidelines.  The individual will participate in the resolution of process gaps and design solutions to problems that prevent TIAA from enabling AI solutions at scale.  The Senior AI Governance and Risk Specialist will play a key role in ensuring submitted use cases adhere to Responsible AI requirements and that necessary control partners are engaged to review.
 



Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Participate in development and implementation of AI governance framework.

  • Participate in the design and implementation of controls to address AI risk

  • Facilitate risk assessments for AI engagements to the Responsible use of AI capabilities.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI governance principles in existing processes and procedures.

  • Stay abreast of global AI governance trends, regulations, and best practices.

  • Provide training, guidance, and communications to staff on AI governance matters.

  • Maintain AI COE process and procedure documentation.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Required

Work Experience

  • 5+ Years Required; 7+ Years Preferred

  • 3+ Years Experience in Technology related function
  • 3+ Years Experience within a Risk and/or Governance Role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7+ Years Experience in Financial Services or Technology
  • Experience presenting to Stakeholder or Business Leaders to foster collaboration and influence decision making
  • Microsoft Office Skills
  • Industry Certifications Preferred, such as: CISSP or CISA

Anticipated Posting End Date:

2025-04-15Base Pay Range: $97,500/yr. - $149,200/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.  In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
