As part of continued growth, we have a new opportunity to join the thriving Manufacturing Intelligence team (part of the Smart Factory group) at Pragmatic Semiconductor.

You will play a key role in a team that implements and deploys end-to-end Manufacturing solutions including third party applications, ETL build, analyses, reporting, API maintenance and development, and other data-related tasks, for our Wafer Fabrication, Assembly and Test Operations.

Reporting to the Senior Manager - Data Science, this role will be critical to supporting our Yield Management System (YMS) integration and deployment alongside the user champion/key users, which will drive yield improvement opportunities by quickly identifying and mitigating manufacturing risks actively, improving the process optimisation efficiently, and handling the quality deviation management effectively. In addition, you will apply data science techniques and theories to provide actionable insights from manufacturing data, including tool, process and test data.

The role will require frequent presence in the North East of England, particularly at our new fab in Durham, therefore you will ideally either be based in the region or able to travel there frequently, We offer a highly competitive benefits package, including Visa and Relocation support.

Key tasks

  • Gain excellent knowledge of Pragmatic Semiconductor’s database structures and data collection mechanisms to be able to suggest means of improvement for ETL pipelines and advise on extract optimisations, analyses, and reporting
  • Develop a thorough understanding of Pragmatic’s manufacturing process; suggesting and developing opportunities from different sources of manufacturing or engineering datasets which may help yield or process optimisation
  • Collaborate effectively with end-to-end teams on solving business problems and building new intelligent analysis solutions
  • Develop the prototype solution to evaluate the proposed solution benefits, includes automate ETL and analytic jobs, as well as visualisation reports
  • Perform exploratory analysis, leveraging statistics and/or machine learning methods to diagnose, predict or generally gain insights which will ultimately help drive yield improvements

Qualifications and training

Ideally you will be qualified to Masters Degree level or possess equivalent experience in: Engineering, one of the Physical Sciences, Computer Science, Statistics, or Applied Mathematics

Skills and experience

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of YMS usage
  • Strong data exploration and visualisation abilities via analysis software, such as Tableau, JMP, Power BI, etc
  • Python and SQL knowledge for solving complicated analytic & scripting requirements
  • Demonstrable experience in project management and multi-tasking
  • Expert experience of YMS implementation and deployment (desirable)
  • Administration of Tableau (desirable)
  • Git usage for version control (desirable)
  • Deployment and monitoring of ML models (MLOps)
