To support our growing business, we are looking for a Working Student - Prompt Engineering
The role
As a Prompt Engineering working student, you will play a crucial role in developing, refining, and optimising prompts for state-of-the-art Large Language Models (LLMs). You will work closely with our team of engineers, data scientists, and product managers to enhance the accuracy, relevance, and efficiency of our generative AI outputs. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge generative AI technologies and contribute to real-world applications that make a difference.
Key responsibilities
Develop, edit, and review prompts for tasks including text, image and data analysis ensuring outputs are of high quality, relevance, and contextual accuracy.
Adhere to, and implement prompt engineering best practices such as Few-Shot Prompting and Chain-of-Thought Prompting, maintaining high standards for prompt quality, testing, documentation, and optimization.
Collaborate closely with other prompt engineers, product managers, data scientists, and stakeholders to deliver prompt solutions that effectively address user needs and expectations.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve prompt-related issues to mitigate unpredictability, bias and hallucination in generative AI model responses.
Write test cases to evaluate the generated prompts using a diverse variety of datasets to ensure stable prompt outputs.
Work with user-facing stakeholders to capture the goals for generative AI applications and refine prompts to achieve these goals.
Provide detailed feedback and analysis on prompt performance to inform ongoing improvements and innovations.
What are we looking for you to bring
Currently pursuing (3rd semester or higher) a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Demonstrated knowledge of algorithmic thinking and proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C++).
Knowledge of using version control systems such as git and github.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen interest in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Experience with one or more commercial or open-source Large Language Models (e.g., OpenAI GPT-4, Google Gemini, Meta Llama3, Claude).
Understanding of Large Language Models concepts such as Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) and parameters such as temperature, top-p, and other relevant settings.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Desirable:
Currently enrolled in a Master’s Degree program in a relevant field.
Experience in utilising prompt development frameworks and tools such as OpenAI Playground, Vertex AI Studio, or Hugging Face Spaces.
Familiarity with natural language processing (NLP) concepts and techniques.
Proficiency in German is an advantage
