Who will you be joining? 

 
Group Data and AI (GDA) is a department in Allianz's global headquarters. We are responsible for shaping Allianz's strategic agenda for Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (Al), and executing Data Analytics and Al solutions at scale, across the entire Allianz Group. At GDA we Create scalable impact with adoptable data & ai solutions based on mutual data and business-oriented tech, shaping trustworthy experiences always centered on humans.
We are looking for candidates to join us as working students in the Data Intelligence (DI) team of Group Data and AI. The Data Intelligence team unlocks business value for Allianz by making data and AI actionable and accessible at scale. It is an opportunity to apply your formerly acquired skills, while broadening horizons in the world of data and analytics and to learn first-hand how data is crucial to improve and transform insurance.
Particularly in the Property Intelligence team, we strive to unlock the business value of geospatial data within the Allianz group by engaging with governments, third-party providers and our operating entities to get access to new data, methods and tools and to put them to work for our businesses

How can you make an impact? 

• Research and implement approaches to solve geospatial needs at scale
• Support in country wide deployments of geospatial datasets
• Collaborate with Nat-Cat and pricing experts to deliver topic and business relevant data
• Explore Open source and governmental data sources and its potential application in the Business
• Assist in various project management tasks, e.g. stakeholder management, preparation of meetings and follow-up documentation, keeping track of to-dos etc.
• Support team members in their content-related tasks
• Support the management with preparation of presentations and media briefings
• Create and coordinate multi-media content (blog posts, videos, interview, infographics) for internal communication
• Research content inside and outside of Allianz on challenging data topics (thought leadership)
• Run team management related tasks, e.g. organizational set-up of the team, administrative tasks, team events, etc.

What are you made of? 

Minimum Qualifications 

• Willingness to stay in the position for a year due to the time taken to get up to speed on the topics
• Fluency in English is required, additional languages are a plus
• Python coding skills, particularly around the topic of geospatial
• Good organization and communication skills
• Knowledge in Geospatial Data and tools (QGIS, ArcGIS and others)
• Quick on your feet
• Attention to detail
• Collaborative attitude
• Requirement for internship and working student positions is the enrollment in a university – or (for an internship) a gap year

Preferred Qualifications

• What is not a requirement but will help you stand from the crowd:
• Experience of working with Cadaster, elevation or imagery
• Experience in using computer vision for Geospatial analytics
• University Student in Engineering, Computer Sciences or Geospatial related fields
• Knowledge in third party Data Acquisition and Data Management from Public and/or Private sectors
• Previous experience in business related functions (e.g. Sales, Operations, Claims, Underwriting, Investment Management, Asset Management, Consulting, Product Development, Finance, Market Management, Digital / Tech etc.) is a plus
