The Opportunity at Altana

Altana is looking for an entrepreneurial, strategic and mission-driven VP of Technical Product Management to own and drive the global data and AI services platform. This executive leader will leverage Altana’s cutting-edge data assets and Global Value Chain Management System to create and execute on a long-term product vision and strategy. By deeply understanding customer needs, market trends, and competitive dynamics, this role will deliver impactful, technically advanced, and market-leading product offerings that address complex, real-world challenges.

In this role, you will lead a product team while reporting directly to and partnering with the CEO of Altana to shape and influence the company’s future. You will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, collaborating across functions to drive the strategic product roadmap, ensuring Altana remains at the forefront of global value chain innovation.

This role encompasses three main directives: 

1. Customer-centric product strategy and solutioning: You will lead the development and execution of  a suite of product offerings to support multiple customers for multiple regulations on top of a unified data and technology platform. As a product visionary, you will deeply understand the ever-evolving regulatory landscape, industry dynamics, and customer requirements to define, scope, and deliver innovative, end-to-end solutions. You will drive critical business decisions regarding product development, including build, buy, and partner assessments and recommendations, ensuring Altana’s product offerings remain differentiated and indispensable to global enterprises.

2. Supported decision-making with AI-driven insights:  In order to deliver new value chain management capabilities you will champion collaboration with Altana’s world-class Machine Learning team and the Director of Graph PM who are building and deploying models to run on top of the existing core data platform that stitches together Altana proprietary data and customer proprietary data into a bespoke global value chain for each customer. 

As the product leader, you will prioritize the development of data-driven intelligence, enabling users to identify and act on high-impact risks and opportunities based on factors like compliance severity and business impact. You’ll also define and refine user interactions to ensure intelligent feedback loops that continuously enhance model accuracy and improve decision-making across a shared global network. Your leadership will drive mission-critical intelligence for customers, supporting their real-world business decisions with powerful insights.

3. Collaborative Workflows for Action-Oriented Solutions: Understanding that individual value chains are unique yet highly interconnected within and across industries, you will lead cross-functional teams to design and build and scale our infrastructure to enable collaborative workflows that unlock network effects across Altana’s customer base. These workflows will empower global enterprises to work together on a shared, actionable supply chain view, enabling them to proactively address prioritized risks.

You will partner with other product managers and key stakeholders to ensure seamless integration across the suite of product offerings, driving cross-customer intelligence sharing while maintaining compliance with evolving global regulations. Ultimately, your executive leadership will create products that not only provide visibility but also orchestrate coordinated actions, helping customers to govern and manage complex, multi-tier global value chain networks effectively.

You Will

• Manage, drive, and continually evolve the technical product roadmap for Altana’s core data management platform, knowledge graph, and extensible technical capabilities. This includes, for example: 
• Partner with ML, data operations, engineering, and application product managers to design knowledge graph enrichments and data quality improvements through operations on customer data and user actions across the platform.
• Set data quality, coverage, and reliability standards to meet customer needs across the platform.
• Specify in-product collaboration respects access controls, data entitlements, and permissions to drive within and across org collaboration in the supply chain
• Systematize how foundational technical concepts like value chains, search, and the knowledge graph feed into client experiences
• Help to define how knowledge graph editing and curation can be arbitrated in our federated environment to create the highest quality user contributed knowledge graph on supply chain
• Work with our AI team to launch machine learning models for classification, recommendation, prediction, valuation and other insights can compose into powerful product experiences
• Provide executive leadership and alignment across cross-functional teams, including engineering, commercial teams, internal subject matter experts, and external customers.
• Ensure successful specification, delivery and execution of technology feature development across the product lifecycle, with a focus on delivering value through Altana’s core technology platform, knowledge graph, and data modelling infrastructure.
• Lead and develop a high-performing, strategically focused product management team. Establish and drive business-critical objectives and measurable outcomes that empower product development teams to achieve results aligned with Altana’s strategic priorities. 
• Define, institutionalize, and oversee processes for user and customer research, enabling a deep, continuous understanding of customer needs and preferences across diverse target segments: customs agencies, logistics service providers, Fortune 500 enterprises, national security agencies, and financial service providers.
• Build a deep understanding of our market trends, partner ecosystem, and competitive landscape

You Have

• Extensive leadership experience (typically 12+ years) in product management within complex, enterprise B2B ecosystems and highly technical products and platforms, involving multiple stakeholders, regulatory considerations, and global-scale operations.
• A track record of delivering transformational outcomes, with an ownership mindset that includes full accountability for both business and product success.
• Proven success in identifying scalable opportunities and commonalities across diverse user segments and delivering market-differentiating, transformational product experiences.
• A business-first mindset, balanced by deep technological acumen—you are passionate about identifying and solving complex user challenges through advanced, scalable technologies, delivered with intuitive and impactful user experiences.
• Exceptional executive communication skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and align diverse internal and external stakeholders—including C-suite leaders, engineers, customers, and partners—through both written and verbal communication.
• Expertise in working closely with enterprise customers to understand and address sophisticated business requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and commercial teams, in a fast-paced organization.
• A proven ability to drive collaboration and innovation, fostering an environment that leverages cross-functional expertise and market feedback to stay ahead of industry trends and competitors.

This role is based in New York, NY and candidates must be within commuting distance from our Brooklyn office.
