The Opportunity:

The Vice President of People will be a key member of the executive team, responsible for shaping and executing our people strategy. This role will drive HR initiatives, talent acquisition strategies, and culture development to ensure we attract, develop, and retain top talent while nurturing a positive and productive work environment. The VP of People will partner closely with the entire leadership team and very closely with our Associate General Counsel to ensure legal compliance and implementation of the organization's mission and people strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Will directly manage the core pillars of the People Team: HR, Talent Acquisition, and Culture.
  • Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and people strategy including but not limited to:  staffing, recruiting, and retention.
  • Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to drive employee engagement and fulfillment, support the organizations human resource compliance and strategy needs.
  • Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, onboarding & onboarding of employees, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development. 
  • Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organizations human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system.
  • In partnership with Finance, ensure organizational alignment to staffing budget and headcount plan.
  • In partnership with Legal, monitors and ensures the organizations compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
  • Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities for HR staff.
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Skillset:

  • Proven track record in leading HR, talent acquisition, and culture initiatives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with employment laws, HR best practices, and talent management strategies including but not limited to: compensation, benefits, leave, employee relations, performance and talent management productivity, recognition, employee morale, occupational health/safety and training/development.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with senior leaders, employees, and external partners.
  • Lead and manage organizational change initiatives to support business growth and transformation.
  • Communicate effectively with employees to ensure clarity and engagement during periods of change.

Education and Requirements:

  • At least 10 years of progressive human resource management experience including 5 years in a Senior leadership role. 
  • SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
