Responsibilities

  • Thought Leadership and Strategy Development: Serve as the thought leader for the Data and AI Unit within the United Nations (UN) & ID Team by identifying customer needs, staying ahead of emerging technology trends, and aligning these insights with Microsoft’s strategic direction. Develop and articulate compelling strategies that map Microsoft technologies to specific customer outcomes, positioning yourself as the primary representative of Microsoft Data and AI to United Nations (UN) agencies and development banks.
  • Trusted Advisor and Influencer: Act as the key trusted advisor and influencer, guiding customers through the decision-making process to adopt and consume Microsoft Data and AI solutions. Win customer technical decisions by conducting tailored messaging, business and technical discussions, and aligning the right solution partners, programs, and resources to address customer needs effectively.
  • Customer Journey Orchestration: Collaborate with customers, account teams, and partners to translate the agreed-upon customer vision into a strategic implementation plan. Address and resolve concerns, prevent technical blockers, and validate a compelling business case for investment. Simplify complex technology concepts to demonstrate their business impact, ensuring a smooth customer journey from vision to realization.
  • Data and AI Sales Business Management: Drive revenue by converting prospects and qualified leads into opportunities. Manage the Microsoft Sales Excellence process for Azure Data and AI Solutions, including pipeline management, quarterly forecasting, and accurate opportunity management. Collaborate with sales teams to align on strategic priorities and ensure consistent execution against revenue targets.
  • Partner Ecosystem Scaling: Build and maintain relationships with partners, acting as a liaison between the partner and internal teams. Facilitate access to partner resources and processes, support partner technical capacity by identifying skill and resource gaps, and provide ongoing feedback to internal teams to enhance partner capabilities.
  • Customer Advocacy and Insight Sharing: Be the voice of the customer by sharing insights, feedback, and best practices with internal teams. Collaborate with engineering and product teams to remove key blockers and drive continuous product improvements, ensuring customer needs and expectations are met.
  • Travel: Due to the global nature of our customers, this role will be expected to travel to key United Nations (UN) locations in North America, Europe and Africa on a regular basis. Expected Travel is 25-50%.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years technology-related sales or account management experience
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field AND 4+ years technology-related sales or account management experience.
  • 2+ years experience selling large scale Data and AI Solutions such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, Purview, etc.
  • 2+ years experience leading customers in the development of Generative AI Solutions.  
  • 2+ years experience using Data Architectures (e.g. Lakehouse Architecture) and Generative AI Architectures (e.g RAG) to drive business outcomes.  

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years technology-related sales or account management experience
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, or related field AND 6+ years technology-related sales or account management experience
    • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration (i.e., MBA), Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years technology-related sales or account management experience.
  • 4+ years solution or services sales experience.
  • Experience leading large cloud engagements in a customer facing role, especially those involving cross-solution data and AI workloads.
  • Understanding of partner ecosystems and the ability to leverage partner solutions to solve customer needs.


Solution Area Specialists IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,100 - $185,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $144,000 - $203,500 per year.
