Job Overview:
Spotter is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Trucking Maintenance Auditor to join our team. This role will involve overseeing and auditing the maintenance processes for our fleet, ensuring that vehicles remain in top working condition, and compliance with safety regulations is maintained at all times. The successful candidate will play a critical role in improving operational efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring that maintenance activities are executed correctly and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine and thorough audits of maintenance logs and reports for company-owned and leased trucks.
  • Inspect vehicles and maintenance records to ensure compliance with internal standards and federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with fleet managers and maintenance teams to assess the overall health of the fleet and identify areas for improvement.
  • Verify that all maintenance tasks are completed on time, with all necessary documentation and parts in place.
  • Analyze maintenance data to detect recurring issues or patterns that may require preventive measures or adjustments in maintenance schedules.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators related to maintenance effectiveness, costs, and vehicle downtime.
  • Assist in the development of best practices for maintenance management, including documentation and auditing procedures.
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities align with company policies, safety guidelines, and industry standards.
  • Work closely with the operations team to ensure minimal disruption to transportation schedules while performing audits and assessments.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in fleet maintenance or a similar auditing role in the transportation industry.
  • Strong understanding of trucking maintenance procedures, safety regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex data and recommend improvements.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies in maintenance records.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including mechanics, operations staff, and management.
  • Knowledge of fleet management software and auditing tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
