What is in it for you?
This master thesis work will be carried out within the CAE Team of Thermal Management, which is a part of the Department Vehicle Propulsion, and has the responsibility for cooling electrical motors, high voltage battery, etc. The CAE team leverages advanced simulation tools to optimize thermal management systems, ensuring efficient heat transfer and fluid dynamics. They collaborate with various departments to enhance system performance and reliability, contributing to the overall development and innovation within the organization.
Scope of the Master Thesis
Thermal Management systems are increasingly complex, featuring circuits that can be connected or disconnected in various configurations based on the working mode (cooling, heating, heat-pumping from different sources) and operating temperatures. The availability of system models prior to the first prototypes enables control and calibration teams to commence their work earlier, requiring the prototype vehicle only in later stages for fine-tuning.
This Master Thesis aims to conduct simulations, utilize existing data extracted from these simulations, and develop a Machine Learning model in Python to predict system responses, subsequently comparing these predictions with the base model.
