Test and Evaluation Technician Job Description: The Test and Evaluation Support Technician provides support to system Integration and Test (I&T) engineers in conducting system level testing. Performs system stress testing and evaluation tasks and activities to include software kit installations, system testing, find, fix, and retest (FFR) activities, and documents failure reports. Maintains system testing environment, performs system operations, runs health checks and error recoveries. Performs IETM procedures and reports deficiencies, supports development of system engineering documentation. Tests software for functionality and sequence. Success in this position requires an assertive, professional, confident attitude, and adapts to changing schedules and tasks. Test and Evaluation Technician Required Tasks: · Performs system level testing, evaluation and related tasks and activities. · Documents system test results, failure reports, and documentation deficiencies. · Assists the system I&T engineering teams in isolating root cause of problems. · Performs maintenance of system test document (updates and corrects procedures). · Performs basic hardware/software installation and operation related tasks. · Follows direction of system I&T engineering leads. Test and Evaluation Technician Requirements: · Former military experience with Submarine Fire Control Systems, software rebuilds, operation, and maintenance. · Experience with TI-10 APB-09 and newer Fire Control systems. · Ability to use technical information, tables, and drawings. · Ability to perform system configuration or troubleshooting procedures. · Able to identify networking issues and basic troubleshooting techniques. · Experienced using Microsoft products – Excel, Word, PowerPoint. · Ability to perform as a self-starter and work with minimal supervision and oversight in a team environment. · Excellent written and oral communication skills. · Willingness to work overtime and off shift when dictated to support business needs. Test and Evaluation Technician Desired Skills: · Knowledge of TI/APB development process and submarine systems interfaces with Fire Control Systems. · Knowledge of FAR/DFAR hardware procurement requirements. · Strong knowledge of Linux and Linux Terminal is a plus. Test and Evaluation Technician Additional Requirements: · High School level or college degree in related discipline, military experience, and 5 or more years of experience as a Fire Control Technician (or related field). · Candidate must have or be able to obtain and keep a DoD SECRET security clearance which means you must be a U.S. Citizen with no dual citizenship. · Proactive/self-starter.
