We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic individual contributor who can bring deep technical experiences to the team and help lead our strategic technology initiatives.  As a Technology Engineer Principal at Capital Group, you will be responsible for leading the Technology Services & Operations (TSO) team with the Planning, Road mapping and Execution of the Predictive Operations Strategic Initiative across the Information Technology Group.  This role will work closely with other Technology Teams to lead and drive the organization to leverage data and technology to improve operational health, scalability and resiliency supporting long term growth in a healthy, streamlined, and efficient manner.  ​ The ideal candidate will possess both technical and leadership qualities to drive objective results that increase the value of IT products & services to Capital Group by delivering predictive capabilities that improve reliability, resiliency, forecast outcomes, increase uptime, and promote Agility and Self-Service across the enterprise.  

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the development and execution of Predictive Operations strategies and roadmaps.

  • Partner with the Service Management Team to develop product roadmaps and new ITSM capabilities in support of Predictive Operations

  • Leads and drives the necessary evolution from reactive thinking and responding to the proactive prevention.

  • Stay current on the latest technologies and trends in relation to ML/AI, Automation, DevSecOps, and Observability and how to leverage them in a synergistic way.

  • Mentors and provides Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to more junior Technology Engineers

  • Discover and Lead Continuous Improvement (CI) and ‘Operate Smartly’ initiatives across IT

  • Lead by example with a data-driven, objective approach in problem solving.

  • You have a minimum of 10 years of experience in IT role(s) with a successful history of increased responsibilities.

  • You have experience applying Software Engineering techniques to solve operational inefficiencies.

  • You can work effectively with Architecture, Engineering InfoSec and Operations teams to deliver transformational outcomes.

  • You have demonstrated experience leveraging real-time ITSM data-driven insights from a CMDB.

  • You can influence others to embrace automation.

  • You have experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)

  • You possess a strong understanding of software engineering principles, practices and the SDLC.

  • You have the ability to establish baselines, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and data-driven improvements.

  • You have an analytical mind and excellent critical thinking skills.  

  • You have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • You possess excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to generate and present compelling content to guide strategic decisions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • You have a BS Degree in Computer Science, or related technical field, and/or equivalent practical experience.

  • You have experience with financial enterprise infrastructure and operations.

  • You have experience with Observability tooling (Splunk, Grafana, Datadog, etc.).

  • You have experience with ITSM tooling and associated frameworks (ServiceNow).

  • You have experience with DevSecOps and Agile methodologies.

  • You have ITIL Certification(s).

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
