What is Nooks?

Nooks is a platform transforming sales reps from manual laborers to scientists. With today’s technology, sales reps shouldn’t need to manually write hundreds of emails, research hundreds of websites/linkedins, and make hundreds of calls. They should instead focus on the parts of their job that actually require people - talking to customers, being creative, and problem-solving. With a combination of AI tools, automation and real-time collaboration, Nooks can do the rest.

The problem

Sales pipeline is critical for growing companies. Many, especially B2B companies, have teams of sales/business development representatives (SDR/BDRs) or full-cycle account executives whose responsibility is to identify, contact, and qualify new potential customers. There are ~750,000 SDR/BDR’s in the US alone (e.g. Airtable, Brex, Databricks and many other tech companies have sizable SDR/BDR teams)

In their day-to-day, SDR/BDRs spend time on 3 main activities:

  1. Prospecting & research - identify a list of potential customers using signals like industry, size, fundraising, headcount growth, new hires, job descriptions, etc.

  2. Email & LinkedIn messaging - write messages to those contacts to convey the problem and pitch your product. The goal is for them to book a demo

  3. Calling - Live phone conversations often have higher conversion than emails because they’re more personal, but there’s a lot more manual work involved

Much of the sales rep's job can be automated with today's technology: large language models, web scraping, automation, integrations, and more!

The role

As a Technical Sourcer at Nooks, you will be instrumental in helping us build our engineering and product teams. You’ll partner with our EPD hiring managers and tech recruiters to understand the complex needs of technical roles and proactively build a high-quality pipeline of software engineering candidates, primarily through proactive outbound courtship.

Responsibilities

Will include:

  • Sourcing candidates using multiple channels e.g. LinkedIn, GitHub, other platforms, referrals. You will also leverage more creative strategies such as targeting hackathon competitors, responding to market intelligence (lay-off news) etc.

  • Building and nurturing a pipeline of top technical talent for future opportunities.

  • Managing candidate experience particularly during the first half of the funnel, ensuring a positive and engaging process from initial outreach through to completion of a technical interview.

  • Maintaining recruiting metrics and communicating progress to your key stakeholders i.e. keeping a tab on your data, being introspective regarding your own personal ROI/yield, tweaking your approach based on that and coming up with recommendations for how the team holistically can be more efficient.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of technical sourcing experience (preference for someone with high volume technical sourcing or agency experience)

  • Experience sourcing EPD hires in the US high-tech sector

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Your outreach will primarily be done on behalf of a start up co-founder/CEO so must be of a high-quality.

  • Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong time management with the ability to wear multiple hats and juggle competing priorities e.g. leading strategic sourcing initiatives whilst screening candidates, partnering with recruiters/HMs etc.

  • High bar for execution and comfort with a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment.

This will be a 1099 role initially. We pay competitively relative to the market. Rate will be dictated by experience.
