As a Technical Lead for the EPSF Serpent SecOps Data Science team, you will be responsible for directing and overseeing the technical, organizational, and cultural aspects of the team. You will lead and mentor a diverse group of Data Scientists, Software Engineers, and Security Analysts, driving business objectives through advanced analytics and machine learning research. Your role will involve evaluating, reviewing, and monitoring service health and detection quality through code reviews, ensuring the Data Science function is managed end to end. Additionally, you will establish and coordinate collaboration with other teams across Microsoft on the security detection landscape, representing the team by demonstrating thought leadership and engaging with Executives and SMEs across the company.

  • Strategize and drive business objectives through advanced analytics and machine learning research for the organization.
  • Evaluate, review, and monitor the service health and detection quality through code reviews, driving the Data Science function end to end.
  • Establish and coordinate collaboration with other teams across Microsoft on the security detection landscape.
  • Represent the team by demonstrating thought leadership and meeting with Executives and SMEs across the company to collaborate.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.

Other Qualfications

  • Cloud Background Check:
    • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check:
    • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven partner engagement and cross-team collaboration skills   
  • Translate strategy into plans that are clear and measurable, with progress shared out to stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to simplify and explain complex ideas. 
  • Experience with large-scale data processing tools  
  • Experience formulating research problems, evaluating related work, innovating differentiators, defining success metrics, developing plans and schedules for achieving metrics, and learning and iterating on further improvements. 

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
