Job Summary:

The Tech Lead/Sr. Tech Lead - Design Automation and AI will work as part of a Research and Development team to architect and support the development of software tools and methodologies that automate the design process of Actuation Technologies products. The Tech Lead/Sr. Tech Lead will be responsible for architecting, designing, implementing, and maintaining software tools and methodologies that improve the efficiency and accuracy of the design process.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in industrial products, as well as experience in AI technologies and their application to industrial automation.

Responsibilities:

Design and implement software tools and methodologies to automate the design process

Debug and troubleshoot software tools and methodologies to ensure they meet design requirements and function as expected 

Develop and maintain documentation for software tools and methodologies

Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in design automation to continuously improve software tools and methodologies

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for automation, and drive design automation projects to completion

Provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders as needed, including training, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues

Document and maintain technical specifications, project plans, and design files

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s / Master’s in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or related field.

Minimum 5 years of experience in Industrial products, preferred expertise in Engineered Products or custom design solutions.

Advanced knowledge of AI/ML technologies and their application in industrial automation products

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, leading multiple projects simultaneously

Willingness to travel occasionally

Preferred Qualifications:

Hands-on Programming Skills – knowledge of statistical programming languages like Python/Julia, CAD languages like LISP (2-3 years minimum).

Excellent Communication Skills to describe findings to a technical and non-technical audience 

Experience working with latest AI technologies. 

Proven Experience as Data Analyst or Data Scientist. 

Experience in RPA tools like Blue Prism.

Specialization in CAD modelling would be an added advantage.

Experience working in Solid Edge, Solid Works or CAD Software

Familiarity with agile development methodologies
