You join Orbem at an exciting stage as we expand our German operations while we launch our US entity. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Team Lead People Success to ensure smooth global People/HR operations alongside our dedicated team members Marisa, Vivianna, and Sandra. Together with your team, you will oversee the full spectrum of People/HR Operations for both entities, including onboarding, payroll, local labor law compliance, and providing People/HR guidance to team members across all levels of the organization. Additionally, you will manage People/HR administration and offboarding processes.
This role is perfect for you if you enjoy building new processes and enhancing existing ones. We are particularly focused on developing a People/HR Business Partner model and we seek someone whose experience and drive align with this vision.
As our Team Lead People Success, you will be a key part of the People & Culture department and report directly to Stephanie, our Head of People & Culture.
You will be responsible for the strategy and leadership of our People Success Team and for executing People/HR Operations tasks yourself, especially for the US entity. We are, therefore, looking for a person who enjoys working both strategically and operationally.
In this dynamic role, you'll lead the charge in strategizing and steering our People Success Team to new heights! You'll also dive into hands-on People/HR operations for our team in Munich/Germany, as well as support our US entity. Your responsibilities include:
People/HR Business Partner responsibilities such as providing manager support, fostering productive team dynamics, and serving as an advisor on a wide range of People/HR-related topics.
Leading a team of three direct reports.
Establishing and implementing a People/HR Business Partner model.
Developing current team members into People Business Partners.
Establishing and enhancing People/HR Operations for our US entity, ensuring full compliance with local labor laws.
Creating reports of HR-relevant KPIs with our HRIS HiBob.
Your team’s responsibilities include:
Managing the entire employee lifecycle - from onboarding to offboarding - through strategic planning, operational efficiency, and administrative support.
Creation of employment contracts, templates, and amendments (Germany/US).
Owning Payroll and Benefits ensuring accurate and timely processing, while continuously evaluating and optimizing these offerings to meet employee needs and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
Visa processing to ensure compliance with immigration regulations and facilitate a smooth transition for international employees.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee data within the HRIS (HiBob) to ensure efficient and reliable data management.
Managing the administration of remote employees outside of Germany via our Employer of Record (EOR).
Ensuring business travel adherence for installations in locations such as the US, Switzerland, Norway, and Sweden, aligning travel processes with relevant policies and regulations.

6+ years of experience within the field of People/HR Operations, including experience as an HR/People Business Partner.
Expert knowledge of German labor law.
Solid knowledge of US labor law (Texas, NY) or the ability to quickly acquire it.
Fluency in both English and German, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages, is required.
2+ years of leadership experience.
Passion for coaching and developing team members.
Ability to motivate team members.
A collaborative and empathetic leadership style, fostering an environment of mutual respect and open communication.
Proven experience in providing and accepting constructive feedback in a supportive, motivating, and respectful manner.
Experience in working with a US entity.
Experience in a startup/scaleup environment, ideally in the tech industry.
Experience working with the HRIS HiBob.
