Are you a Taiwanese Mandarin speaker with experience in translation and a passion for education? We are seeking speakers of Taiwanese Mandarin with expertise in technical translation to improve the quality of our client’s speech-to-speech translation software (EnglishTaiwanese Mandarin).

Description of possible tasks:

• Identify sources for domain-relevant text data in Taiwanese Mandarin

• Review and refine automated translations and identify patterns of errors

• Leverage domain-specific experience to enhance the relevance and accuracy of translations

• Provide feedback on quality and performance of translation models

Requirements

• Native speaker of Taiwanese Mandarin

• Military experience (ideally recent)

• Strong familiarity with a broad range of military terminology

• High level of English proficiency

• Experience communicating across language barriers

• Available 15-20 hours per week for at least 2 months (starting early/mid-December 2024)

• Experience in translation/interpreting preferred
