We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems Engineer with expertise in Linux, OpenShift, VMware, and L2 Networking. As a Systems Engineer at DS DeepSource GmbH, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our Linux, OpenShift, VMware, and L2 Networking solutions to ensure the stability, security, and optimal performance of our systems.

Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and manage Linux-based systems, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of various distributions such as Ubuntu, CentOS, and Red Hat.
• Implement and maintain OpenShift container platform, including cluster setup, pod management, and application deployment using Kubernetes orchestration.
• Manage and administer VMware virtualization infrastructure, including server setup, virtual machine management, and performance tuning.
• Configure and maintain L2 Networking infrastructure, including switches, routers, VLANs, and network security protocols.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather system requirements, provide technical expertise, and ensure successful integration of various technologies within the overall infrastructure.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement necessary optimizations to enhance system efficiency and reliability.
• Conduct regular system audits, security assessments, and patch management to ensure system compliance and security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Linux, OpenShift, VMware, and L2 networking components.
• Collaborate with the IT team to develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in Linux, OpenShift, VMware, and L2 Networking.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Systems Engineer with expertise in Linux, OpenShift, VMware, and L2 networking.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Linux administration, including various distributions, command-line tools, and shell scripting.
• Experience in deploying and managing OpenShift container platform, including familiarity with Kubernetes orchestration.
• Proficiency in managing and maintaining VMware virtualization infrastructure.
• Solid understanding of L2 networking principles, protocols (VLAN, STP), and network security concepts.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to quickly identify and resolve system-related issues.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Relevant certifications such as Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or equivalent certifications are highly desirable.
