The Fraunhofer-Institute for Electron Beam and Plasma Technology FEP works on innovative solutions for vacuum coating and the treatment of surfaces, liquids and gases. The Stationary Precision Coating working group in the field of plasma technology deals with the development of plasma-based vacuum coating processes an technologies for the producation of functional coatings using reactive magnetron sputtering. We offer a position for a student assistant starting as soon as possible.
What you will do
Research and production equipment for the deposition of thin films create large amounts of data with process, system and environmental parameters that have a significant influence on the coating properties. Because the many parameters often only make a statement about the desired coating properties in complex interrelationships, a quick interpretation by humans is often not possible.
To use the collected process data more effectively, we are looking for support in the preparation of process data and coating properties as a basis for modeling for the effective prediction of coating properties.
