What the job involves
We are seeking a future leader with a sharp analytical mind and strong business acumen to join as an early member of the Strategic Finance team. You will combine quantitative and qualitative analysis to dive deep into complex financial and operational matters and be instrumental in shaping Hayden’s long-term strategy. The ability to translate data into actionable insights and influence stakeholders is essential. This role will be highly visible and offers the chance to develop your operational finance skills and make a significant impact on the company's growth.
Responsibilities
Forecasting & reporting: Work closely with company leadership to develop financial forecasts, key performance indicators, and long-term strategic plans that optimize resource allocation with company objectives. Analyze monthly financial and operating results vs. plan to identify risks, opportunities, and mitigation strategies. Roll up variances at the company level and prepare regular reports to company leadership and Board of Directors.
Financial analysis: Support ROI-based projects focused on unit economics, operational excellence, labor strategies, and more. Work cross-functionally to build business cases supporting any capital efficiency initiatives.
Process improvement: Identify inefficiencies with existing financial processes and implement solutions to improve accuracy, speed, and scalability. Drive evaluation and implementation of new FP&A tooling system to help us mature our budgeting process.
Financial modeling: Help improve existing three-statement model (i.e. IS, BS, CFS) and leverage outputs to distill critical insights and drive better investment decisions.
Corporate development: Assist ad-hoc in evaluating potential partnerships, investments, and other opportunities to drive inorganic business growth.
Qualifications
4+ years of experience across strategic finance / corporate finance / FP&A at a high-growth technology startup. Strong preference for additional experience in investment banking or consulting.
You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and relish the opportunity to build processes and structure where needed. You are extremely well-organized and not afraid to wear multiple hats at the same time.
You possess exceptional financial modeling skills and can translate findings into concrete plans using strong analytical frameworks. You have a strong bias for action and are always working towards delivering results.
You have strong interpersonal skills with experience in managing multiple cross-functional stakeholders at once. You are able to stay open-minded and always consider different perspectives before reaching a conclusion.
You have excellent written and verbal communication skills. You can comfortably translate complex ideas into easily digestible points for all audiences, and excel at drafting presentations, memos, and other forms of internal and external communications.
You are a team player with a tremendous work ethic, and are humble, coachable, and collaborative. You have humility and a willingness to continuously learn and develop your skills. You always strive to grow, and possess intellectual curiosity to learn the most you can.
