What We Are Looking For:

Work as a senior member of the Advanced Analytics team, taking a leading role in managing our streaming analytics platform and AI/ML applications. Lead end-to-end projects, from problem definition to deployment, and drive actionable insights that deliver measurable business impact.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, software developers, and business stakeholders, to understand requirements and deliver innovative data-driven solutions. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in technologies and explore opportunities to apply new techniques and knowledge to solve Bandwidth’s business challenges by refining architecture, and supporting infrastructure applications.

What You'll Do:

  • Design, build and maintain a stable and secure streaming analytics and AI/ML infrastructure , on-prem and in the cloud.
  • Develop and maintain customer-facing features for web applications using modern front-end technologies.
  • Be instrumental in finding the right solutions to critical needs, often involving massive amounts of data and the need to scale.
  • Bake appropriate metrics, analysis, and alerting into every solution.
  • Design and refine our standards, processes, automation to continue to grow our ability to support Bandwidth.
  • Take an architectural role, with administration and on-call responsibilities for critical application infrastructure.
  • Work with a high-functioning agile development team in sprints. 
  • Collaborates effectively across departments to gain automated insights and value from Bandwidth’s data lake and large datasets
  • Influence decision-makers with compelling data-driven narratives that improves organizations' understanding of AI’s value that lead to increase in revenue
  • Mentor and coach junior data scientists, providing guidance on best practices, methodologies, and technical skills development.

What You Need:

  • Education:   Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science or a related field
  • Experience: 
    • 5+ years experience in running large scale data platforms either On-Prem or in Cloud
    • Significant experience in infrastructure/application observability technologies such as Datadog, SumoLogic, time series metrics and monitoring.
    • 5+ experience in Software Engineering, particularly with Java and/or Python and automation technologies like Github Actions, Terraform etc.
    • Strong understanding of Kubernetes and Docker.
    • 4+ years of significant responsibility in the architecture or design of software and infrastructure solutions.
  • Skills:
    • Architecture, configuration, administration and development of streaming technologies like Kafka, Flink, Hadoop, Spark, or other distributed computing frameworks for processing and analyzing large-scale datasets efficiently
    • Experience with metrics and monitoring applications such as DataDog, Sumologic, CloudWatch, etc.
    • Experience in working with Cloud data warehouse solutions like Snowflake and have a strong knowledge of data structure (specifically SQL) and REST APIs
    • Experience with source control , automation and deployment tools (GitHub).
    • Experience with containerization and continuous integration solutions such as Docker, Github Actions, Ansible and Red Hat OpenShift
    • Considerable experience in deploying infrastructure applications to on-prem and cloud environments, especially AWS.
    • Code primarily in Java & Python, with advanced skills in programming languages and numerous libraries and supporting technologies.
    • Experience in front-end frameworks such as React, and build tools such as Webpack, Npm
    • Familiar with artificial intelligence, natural language processing (NLP), and large language models (LLM)
    • High self-motivation, strong organizational and productivity skills, and the ability to prioritize and manage complex projects with little or no guidance
