We have a growing triple digit fleet deployed in paid commercial use within vineyards, nurseries, berries, and beyond, and demand for our product is accelerating, so we are growing our team. We are seeking a Safety Engineer to drive and execute our Safety roadmap. The ideal candidate will be in charge of the safety activities and certifications to open up new market possibilities.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough risk assessments of all Burro products in use and planned (Ex: HIRA).
Ensure our products comply with all relevant safety standards
Implement safety measures to ensure customer (and employee) safety
Develop training and other tools to ensure safe operation of Burro robots
Collaborate with Engineering team to understand all robot functionalities and provide guidance throughout product development lifecycle
Drive the implementation of countermeasures when the risk assessment requires
Manage all certifications required to sell our products in different geographies.
Plan and execute all necessary tests required for various certifications
Stay up to date and be the go-to company expert on on industry safety standards and regulations which could impact our products
Investigate and analyze any incidents involving Burro products
Requirements
Masters degree in Engineering, robotics, safety, or related field
5 years of experience in safety engineering, preferably in the field of robotics
Experience in risk assessment and safety planning
Experience in CE certification or similar certification, as well as relevant regulatory requirements
Experience in designing and implementing safety mechatronic tests
Embraces collaboration and a fast paced work environment
Travel as-needed.
