Company Overview:UP.Labs is seeking a hands-on Sr. Data Scientist with a proven track record of building products from 0 to 1 to lead data strategy and execution for a rapidly scaling SaaS startup focused on aircraft maintenance planning Role Overview
Lead the data science strategy and execution for aircraft maintenance planning, with a core focus on optimizing scheduling, staff availability/schedules predictions, flight delay predictions and turnaround times.
Build and scale models that integrate operational constraints, near real-time data, and predictive insights to support automated (at first semi-automated) maintenance planning decisions.
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and domain experts to deploy models into production and deliver measurable business impact.
Qualifications
Strong experience in applied ML, optimization, or operations research (e.g., staff/asset/route planning, scheduling, supply chain, logistics, or manufacturing).
Deep hands-on skills with Python, SQL, and common ML/optimization libraries and MLOPs libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, XGBoost, MLFlow, Gurobi, OR-Tools).
Proven experience deploying models in production environments (batch or real-time).
Familiarity with aviation or airline maintenance data a strong plus (but not required).
Experience working in cross-functional teams with engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders.
