We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented SQL Developer with at least 4 years of professional experience. This role requires a strong command of T-SQL, data manipulation, and report generation. The candidate should be capable of interpreting complex requirements, optimizing query performance, and ensuring data quality through proper testing and documentation.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain intricate T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions.
  • Analyze and convert business requirements into efficient SQL code.
  • Execute data transformations, cleansing, validation, and enrichment tasks.
  • Compose and schedule custom data scripts for insertion, updating, deletion, and movement operations.
  • Design, generate, and maintain reports utilizing Crystal Reports or other business intelligence tools.
  • Engage in code reviews, peer programming, and unit testing cycles.
  • Enhance existing queries to improve performance and scalability.
  • Investigate data issues, perform root cause analysis, and assist with data integrity initiatives.
  • Administer job automation and support ETL processes where necessary.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of SQL logic, data dictionaries, and version histories.
  • Participate in sprint planning, refinements, and collaborative solution development.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Four or more years of practical experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.
  • Strong expertise in crafting optimized queries, procedures, and scripts.
  • Experience with stored procedures, triggers, indexing, and query performance enhancement.
  • Thorough understanding of relational database concepts and data normalization.
  • Proficient in working with substantial datasets, including joins, subqueries, common table expressions (CTEs), and window functions.
  • Experience utilizing version control tools such as Git for managing SQL artifacts.
  • Capability to interpret entity-relationship diagrams (ERDs), functional specifications, and data mapping documents.
  • Demonstrated experience in writing unit tests and collaborating with quality assurance teams.
  • Familiarity with data export/import procedures, including bulk operations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Crystal Reports or any equivalent reporting tool.
  • Exposure to contemporary business intelligence platforms such as ThoughtSpot, Power BI, or Tableau.
  • Experience in migrating reports across different tools.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Basic understanding of data warehousing or ETL tools is advantageous.
  • Exposure to DevOps practices or CI/CD processes for SQL deployments is a plus.

Plus ++

  • Experience working in the Life Sciences industry, particularly in regulated environments such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or clinical research.
  • Familiarity with GxP compliance (Good Clinical Practice, Good Manufacturing Practice, etc.), FDA regulations, and 21 CFR Part 11 requirements.
  • Proven ability to work with sensitive medical or clinical data while maintaining data integrity, traceability, and confidentiality.
  • Experience supporting systems or databases used in clinical trials, drug safety, or regulatory submissions is a strong plus.
