Seeing AI (Artificial Intelligence) is a visual assistant made with and for the blind community. The free mobile app leverages the latest AI to help with daily tasks, providing an audio-first experience.

In this role, as a Software Engineer II - Seeing AI, you will have the opportunity to work across the entire product, from iOS/Android development, to azure services, prompt engineering, and wearable device integration.

Responsibilities

  • Implementing features and fixing bugs in the iOS/Android mobile apps, and Azure back-end.
  • Automating processes such as testing, release management, and service monitoring.
  • Ensuring the product adheres to responsible AI, security, privacy and accessibility best practices.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C#, C/C++, Python, Java, Kotlin, or Swift, or JavaScript.
    • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications: 

  • Professional experience developing software solutions in a team.
  • Native mobile development on iOS, Android, or using MAUI
  • Developing cloud services at scale, including developing web APIs, working with cloud platforms, and monitoring site reliability.
  • Using prompt engineering to solve customer problems.
  • Building augmented reality experiences using ARKit and ARCore.
  • Though not required, details of any side projects, or involvement in tech-for-good or accessibility, is a bonus.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
