About kaiko

In cancer care, treatment decisions can take many days—but patients don’t have that time. One of the reasons for delays? Cancer patients' data is scattered across many places: doctor’s notes, medical imagery, genomics data. At kaiko, we are developing AI foundation models to bring this data together and integrate it into clinical workflows, enabling doctors to make faster, more effective treatments decisions.

We also collaborate closely with the leading Dutch cancer research institute (NKI) on multiple AI research projects and a joint clinical validation initiative. In 2025, we plan on expanding our partnerships to even more hospitals.

We raised significant long-term funding and have offices in Zurich and Amsterdam. Over the past year, our team has nearly doubled in size, now comprising 70+ people from 25 countries and we just got recognized as a Rising Innovator at the GenAI conference

About the role

You'll be responsible for spearheading the end-to-end delivery of our cutting-edge AI-driven software solutions, ensuring they align with our strategic product roadmap and meet rigorous quality and regulatory standards. This role is pivotal in translating innovative AI prototypes into robust, market-ready products, directly impacting our ability to lead in the oncology AI technology space. You will report to the VP Engineering and work closely with the CTO (AI R&D), VP Product, Compliance/Legal, and External Auditors/Partners.

You will be based in either The Netherlands or Switzerland, with the expectation of spending at least 50% of your time at the office.

Some areas of responsibility

  • You’ll drive the comprehensive program management of our software engineering roadmaps, managing milestones from prototype to production and ensuring strategic alignment across concurrent projects.
  • You’ll orchestrate resource allocation and stakeholder communication, managing trade-offs and ensuring transparent updates across technical teams, product management, executives, and external partners.
  • You’ll own the launch management process for new software releases, defining production transition gates and ensuring seamless cross-functional execution between R&D, engineering, and product.
  • You’ll champion regulatory compliance (MDR/IVDR, FDA, AI Act, GDPR) throughout the delivery lifecycle, overseeing necessary documentation and aligning processes with validation, legal, and risk teams.

If you are strategic and results-oriented with a passion for innovation and a knack for navigating complex technical and regulatory landscapes, are excited about being the driving force behind the successful delivery of transformative AI software to achieve our ambitious product and engineering goals, we think you will love this job.

About you

  • You have 5+ years of program or project management experience in software delivery, preferably with a focus on AI, SaaS, or healthcare technology.
  • You have proven experience managing cross-functional teams and delivering complex technical programs involving cloud infrastructure, AI/ML models, APIs, or microservices.
  • You demonstrate strong cross-functional leadership, with exceptional stakeholder negotiation and problem-solving capabilities.
  • You are highly adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities, showing empathy in your interactions.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in oncology, healthcare AI, or other highly regulated software development environments.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, major cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), and advanced DevOps practices
