OPPORTUNITY DETAILS:

TITLE: 

Site Superintendent – Data Centre / Industrial MEP Expansion

LOCATION: 

Cambridge, ON Canada

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for field operations for assigned projects related to MEP
  • Directs the day-to-day onsite supervision of the field labor force, delegating work appropriately
  • Inspects Contractor or Subcontractor operations to ensure compliance with contract
  • Maintains good working relationships with clients, vendors, contractors/subcontractors, internal departments, and engineers
  • Works closely with the Construction Project Manager to ensure timely and profitable completion of each project
  • Works with the Project Manager to develop and maintain the site logistics plan
  • Reviews and approves Trade Contractor Payment Applications with Project Manager
  • Coordinates site testing and inspection efforts, including conducting quality inspections
  • Monitors costs, including labor, time and material
  • Demonstrates commitment to an injury-free environment, including communication of safety standards to labor force
  • Manages and monitors schedules to ensure all activities meet deadlines given
  • Prepares and submits Superintendent’s Daily Reports
  • Attends and participates in project meetings, including subcontractor meetings

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Field Superintendent, Foreman, Lead, etc. or other related work and / or trade experience
  • Industry experience working with construction of data centres, industrial, healthcare or other mission critical facilities preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong organization, time management, and verbal/written communication skills
  • Must possess strong decision making, problem solving, leadership and management abilities
  • Familiarity with and ability to read and understand drawings and specifications
  • Working knowledge of terms and conditions of project contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a cross functional team
  • Ability to travel as required by the project / client

Additional Information

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Walking and/or standing for long periods of time will be required
  • Bending, stooping and lifting may be required
  • Periods of construction / equipment sound and noise where protective equipment will be required
  • Required to spend time concentrating which will require attention to detail and high levels of accuracy; and
  • Required to meet a number of deadlines which may cause stress
