Job Description:

As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at Chalice.AI, you will be responsible for our reliability and quality assurance activities. This position is perfect for someone who is ready to step into a leadership role, wants to join at the ground floor of an early-stage company and is excited to learn from and be mentored by technology and advertising veterans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Development Pipeline: Build software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications and improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions

  • Governance: Ensure that Chalice’s solutions, data and models are compliant with industry standard frameworks and applicable regulations.

  • Quality Assurance: Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures.

  • Reliability: Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service-level objectives.

  • Monitoring and Notifications: Maintain and extend our monitoring and notification platform.

  • Configuration Management: Manage cloud infrastructure for repeatability and fault tolerance.  Maintain Terraform and Cloud Formation scripts defining infrastructure implementation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 5-7 years relevant experience.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Python, AWS, 3rd party API usage, large-scale databases (e.g. Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) and working with large data sets (> 100TB).

  • Experience with Airflow, Databricks and digital advertising technology and platforms.

  • Strong knowledge of monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, DataDog and PagerDuty.

  • Significant hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and configuration management tools (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible).

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Compensation:

This role's salary range is $120,000-140,000, based on experience and location. Plus equity in an early-stage startup.
