Full TimeMateria is an early stage startup, building AI powered software to help augment a wide range of tasks and improve productivity for professionals at large accounting firms. We are based in NYC with a hybrid working culture with an office in Williamsburg.
We're on the hunt for a skilled backend engineer to join our founding team. Being at an early stage in our company, you'll get the chance to work across various parts of our tech stack. Your role as a backend engineer involves creating vital infrastructure, integrating the many different accounting products into our ecosystem, contributing to our AI orchestration engine, helping to build out our devops foundations, and more.
Shape Materia's infrastructure architecture and security systems, and be a core contributor to innovative LLM based algorithms, and AI-driven tools and orchestration systems.
As part of a small but growing team, your contributions will directly influence our product development and company trajectory.
Proven experience leading projects and building scalable, robust, and secure systems
Proficiency in backend software development (building apis, security systems, interacting with databases, ideally in python), infrastructure (containerized micro services, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, AWS), building integrations, and data (relational data modeling, analytics, web scraping, ETL).
4+ years of experience
A flexible and adaptable mindset. Early stage startups are inherently always evolving! How we handle uncertainty is how we make progress as a company.
