Job Description

The AI Transformation Director for Quality Assurance will lead the integration of artificial intelligence technologies into the quality department to enhance processes, improve product quality, and reduce defects. This role will focus on driving data-driven decision-making, optimizing quality control systems, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of both quality management and AI technologies, enabling them to bridge the gap between technical capabilities and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Planning:
    • Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for AI transformation within the quality department, aligning initiatives with overall business goals.
    • Identify opportunities for AI application in quality assurance processes, from inspection to data analysis.
  2. AI Implementation:
    • Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI-powered quality control systems and tools.
    • Collaborate with IT and data science teams to ensure that the necessary infrastructure and data analytics capabilities are in place.
  3. Data Management:
    • Oversee the collection and management of quality-related data, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for analysis.
    • Implement data governance practices to maintain data integrity and compliance with regulations.
  4. Collaboration and Leadership:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams—including manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain—to foster collaboration on quality improvement initiatives.
    • Provide leadership and guidance to quality assurance teams on AI methodologies and tools.
  5. Training and Development:
    • Develop training programs to enhance the quality department’s capabilities in using AI tools and interpreting data-driven insights.
    • Cultivate a culture of continuous learning and technological adoption within the quality function.
  6. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of AI initiatives in quality assurance.
    • Generate reports and present findings to senior management regarding the impact and value of AI transformations.
  7. Continuous Improvement:
    • Champion a proactive approach to quality management by leveraging AI insights to improve processes and reduce defects.
    • Stay informed about the latest AI technologies and industry trends to ensure the company remains competitive in quality assurance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science / AI
  • Proven experience in Data Science / AI (typically 7+ years) but knowledge in quality assurance with a focus on process improvement and technology integration.
  • Strong understanding of AI and machine learning concepts, with experience in implementing AI solutions in a manufacturing or quality context.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, capable of fostering collaboration across departments.
