Latitude AI is an automated driving technology company developing a hands-free, eyes-off driver assist system for next-generation Ford vehicles at scale. We’re driven by the opportunity to reimagine what it’s like to drive and make travel safer, less stressful, and more enjoyable for everyone.

When you join the Latitude team, you’ll work alongside leading experts across machine learning and robotics, cloud platforms, mapping, sensors and compute systems, test operations, systems and safety engineering – all dedicated to making a real, positive impact on the driving experience for millions of people.

As a Ford Motor Company subsidiary, we operate independently to develop automated driving technology at the speed of a technology startup. Latitude is headquartered in Pittsburgh with engineering centers in Dearborn, Mich., and Palo Alto, Calif.

Meet the team:

In the Intelligent Systems team, we convert photons into understanding, primarily via computer vision and machine learning. Our organization is responsible for all downstream tasks of the vehicle sensor suite onboard, as well as the full offboard/cloud infrastructure for machine learning at Latitude.

Come help us make the world safer, and driving more pleasant.

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with perception experts and experienced roboticist to build solutions that scale from the lab to the customer, for one of the largest-scale robotics projects in history.
  • Architect, design, and implement state of the art and beyond solutions in your domain- some example domains that are within our remit:
    • Sensing: From the sensor driver to objects, algorithms to determine everything in the world and its properties.
    • Machine Learning & Data Platform: Cloud services for data management, ingest, workflow orchestration, distributed training at scale, and core components of our validation and safety case.
    • Mapping: Generating a consistent, geo-tagged representation of the universe for consumption by the fleet.
    • Labeling: Managing operators, development of labeling tools, and accelerating our dataset management and distribution analysis.
    • State Estimation: Fuse information over time and estimate attributes (e.g. kinematics).
    • Localization: Estimate where the vehicle is in the world.
    • Calibration: Estimate the location and properties of all sensing systems on the vehicle, and the vehicle itself, in unconstrained environments.
    • Performance: Everything about making the systems of the company faster on the vehicle - use resources more efficiently, deploy jobs to accelerators more intelligently, and squeeze more out of the resources on-vehicle.
  • Develop production quality software in a fast-paced, highly autonomous environment while maintaining a strong safety culture.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, ECE, Robotics, Physics, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Significant (10+ years) prior experience in one or more of the domains listed above, or in another domain of relevancy to the autonomous vehicles space.
  • Significant (10+ years) of experience in C++ or Python software development.
  • Track record of product development culminating in successful launches/releases/etc.

Nice to have:

  • Master’s plus 8 year of experience or PhD degree plus 5 years of experience in Robotics, ECE, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Track record of technical leadership (not limited to management) taking products or large features from research to consumer release.

What we offer you:

  • Competitive compensation packages
  • High-quality individual and family medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Health savings account with available employer match
  • Employer-matched 401(k) retirement plan with immediate vesting
  • Employer-paid group term life insurance and the option to elect voluntary life insurance
  • Paid parental leave
  • Paid medical leave
  • Unlimited vacation
  • 15 paid holidays
  • Complimentary daily lunches, beverages, and snacks
  • Pre-tax spending accounts for healthcare and dependent care expenses
  • Pre-tax commuter benefits
  • Monthly wellness stipend
  • Adoption/Surrogacy support program
  • Backup child and elder care program
  • Professional development reimbursement
  • Employee assistance program
  • Discounted programs that include legal services, identity theft protection, pet insurance, and more
