Overview

  • Lead and oversee OCI implementations, ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards
  • Conduct quality assurance and performance testing for OCI deployments, providing detailed assurance reports with recommendations
  • Monitor and audit systems, translating architectural requirements into scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems
  • Implement and manage cloud security services, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
  • Develop and maintain deployment and task automation scripts using technologies such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
  • Perform cost estimation and optimization for OCI services, identifying operational cost control mechanisms
  • Lead migration efforts from on-premises workloads to OCI using tools like Terraform
  • Implement and manage core OCI services, including compute, storage, networking, and database administration
  • Provide expertise in Oracle Integration Cloud, APEX, and Oracle Container Engine for Kubernetes (OKE)
  • Collaborate with third-party SaaS providers and development partners on integration projects
  • Conduct security assessments and implement security strategies for OCI environments
  • Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance on OCI best practices.

Responsibilities

Continuous Quality Assurance

  • Conduct quality checks on implemented solutions
  • Review and validate changes made to OCI environments
  • Perform regular audits of security configurations and access controls

Client Support and Consultation

  • Provide expert-level support to clients on OCI-related issues
  • Conduct regular meetings with clients to discuss performance, optimization, and future needs
  • Offer strategic advice on leveraging OCI services for business objectives

Documentation and Knowledge Management

  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of OCI configurations, processes, and procedures
  • Create and update runbooks for common operations and troubleshooting
  • Contribute to the company's knowledge base with best practices and lessons learned

Continuous Improvement and Optimization

  • Regularly assess and optimize OCI resource utilization and costs
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve efficiency
  • Stay current with OCI feature updates and evaluate their potential benefits for clients

Team Collaboration and Mentoring

  • Participate in daily stand-ups and team meetings
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on complex projects and integrations

Capacity Planning and Scaling

  • Monitor resource usage trends and forecast future needs
  • Plan and execute scaling activities to meet changing demands
  • Recommend and implement architectural improvements for better performance and reliability

Security and Compliance Management

  • Perform regular security assessments and vulnerability scans
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
  • Implement and maintain security best practices across all OCI environments

Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity

  • Maintain and test disaster recovery plans
  • Conduct regular backup and restore tests
  • Ensure high availability and fault tolerance of critical systems

Reporting and Analytics

  • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on system performance, availability, and security
  • Analyze trends and patterns to identify areas for improvement
  • Prepare and present technical reports to management and clients

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience as a systems administrator, with a strong focus on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Administration
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux system administration
  • Current Oracle Cloud Architect Associate Level Certification
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as BASH, Perl, Ruby, PowerShell, or Python
  • Strong understanding of virtualization technologies and cloud security principles
  • Experience with quality assurance methodologies and performance testing in cloud environments
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal
  • Familiarity with compliance standards such as SOC, ISO, and FedRAMP
