About the role:

Boston Scientific is seeking a skilled and adaptable Senior Software Analyst to help advance our AI, automation, and digital initiatives within our HR Intelligent Automation CoE.

In this role, you will focus on developing Conversational Interfaces and Intelligent Automation, while also working with digital platforms like ServiceNow and other self-service technologies. Your expertise will be crucial in designing intuitive interfaces, harnessing emerging technologies, and creating efficient virtual agents and automated workflows.

This is a hybrid opportunity requiring 3 days onsite, with the preferred location being Marlborough, MA; however, candidates based in any of the additional sites listed in the posting will be considered.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborate with HR stakeholders to identify and define use cases for chatbots and virtual agents.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Design, develop, and implement conversational interfaces and intelligent automation solutions.
  • Leverage platforms such as ServiceNow, Automation Anywhere, and Moveworks to create chatbots, virtual agents, and automated workflows.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies in natural language processing (NLP), large language models, general and generative AI, and machine learning.
  • Own the end-to-end development of technical solutions, ensuring reliability, scalability, and adherence to best practices.
  • Mentor and guide other automation developers in effectively utilizing virtual agents and chatbots.
  • Lead organizational readiness and training initiatives to support the adoption of emerging technologies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in process automation, AI-driven workflow development, and/or software development (Python, Java, or C++).
  • Hands-on experience in designing and implementing conversational interfaces, chatbots, and virtual agents.
  • Knowledge of Natural Language Processing (NLP), Natural Language Understanding (NLU) techniques, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), and Large Language Models (LLM).
  • Expertise in developing and managing enterprise service management platforms, with a preference for ServiceNow, including experience in creating custom applications, automating workflows, and deploying virtual agents.
  • Proficiency in workflow-based logic, with the ability to understand and document business processes, design technical solutions, and develop these solutions using various technologies.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques and tools.

Preferred Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Experience with a leading intelligent automation platform (preferred: Automation Anywhere, UiPath) for creating intelligent automation solutions.
  • Experience working with distributed Scrum teams and applying agile methodologies and principles.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow’s large language model capabilities and natural language understanding (NLU) workbench.
  • Experience with Human Resources operations and processes.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across a complex work environment, including global processes.
