Development of a realistic simulation environment for autonomous systems - from scratch, without templatesMathematical modeling of the environment, dynamic objects, sensor behavior and environmental influences (e.g. wind, terrain, traffic)Creation of a physically sound basis for system tests, sensor processing and decision logicIntegration of own modules in frameworks such as Gazebo, CARLA or comparable toolsCollaboration with robotics, AI and hardware teams to realistically map the environmentSupport with test automation, evaluation and scenario design
Your profile
Must ​have:Very good knowledge of mathematical modeling and physically based simulationExperience with C++ (possibly combined with Python for tools/scripting)Practical experience with simulation engines such as Gazebo, CARLA or similar - but with a focus on in-house development, not configurationAbility to build own models for environment, dynamics and sensorsTechnical background in robotics, autonomous driving or related fieldsExperience with ROS / ROS2Nice to have:Knowledge of sensor technology (camera, lidar, radar, acoustics)Experience with validation and testing of autonomous systemsMeta:Intrinsic motivation and willingness to go the extra mile, as well as attention to detailCreativity that thinks outside the box as well as conceptual and systematic design thinking and disciplined executionServant leadership that puts the success of the team above their egoHighest moral standards and work ethicWe value extracurricular responsibilities and accomplishments on your resumeFluent in English or GermanCitizenship of a NATO member state or close ally is a mustSuccessful applicants will be required to obtain a security clearance.
