The Senior Research Assistant will play a key role in the Teaching Innovation Grant "Creators of Tomorrow: Integrating Prompt Engineering and Responsible AI in Discipline-Specific Curricula." This role involves working with educators (Course Coordinators, Lecturers) to develop a customizable online module and embedding AI-assisted coding into courses along with principles of Responsible AI.
The Senior Research Assistant Technician provides specialist research support at all stages of the research life-cycle including evaluating research results, conducting literature reviews and actively contributing to publications.
Key responsibilities will include:
Develop and customise online modules focusing on prompt engineering, computational thinking, and Responsible AI.
Collaborate with academic staff to redesign learning activities integrating AI-assisted coding and Responsible AI principles.
Conduct literature reviews on AI-assisted coding, prompt engineering, and Responsible AI.
Contribute to the preparation and authorship of reports and publications.
Assists with designing research studies
Maintain accurate records of research activities and outcomes.
Assist in developing a proactive safety culture and implement continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with university policies and legislative requirements.
Perform other duties as reasonably directed by the supervisor.

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated and innovative Senior Research Assistant with a background in Education, Science, Humanities, Computer Science or Engineering and an interest in GenAI, AI-assisted coding and Responsible AI.
Completion of a relevant undergraduate degree in Education, Science, Humanities, Computer Science or Engineering with experience in working collaboratively with academic teaching staff.
Demonstrated knowledge and skills in AI-assisted coding and prompt engineering.
Knowledge of Responsible AI principles.
Experience working in an educational environment, preferably in curriculum development or instructional design.
Well-developed problem-solving skills with the ability to forward plan, prioritize tasks to meet deadlines, and work with high adaptability both independently and as part of a team.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to produce clear and succinct documentation.
Ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders in an educational environment.
An avid interest or previous experience in the teaching and training of undergraduate/postgraduate students is desirable.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia.
