Maintains inventory for the Pharmacy Department and checks all medications and other pharmacy items kept in the store room.

  • Encourages teamwork by showing initiative, and being knowledgeable in all aspects of the daily running and administration of the inventory functions.
  • Oversees the out-of-stock or short-delivered items, and reports such problems to the supervisor.
  • Keeps the storage areas neat and updates the list of items stored in locations other than the pharmacy.
  • Coordinates with relevant IT support personnel when IT problems are encountered.
  • Monitors supplier price lists and bonus schemes and keeps records up to date.
  • Liaises with pharmaceutical companies and disseminates relevant information to supervisor.
  • Prioritizes daily duties to ensure urgent orders and stock-related issues are entered/resolved in a timely fashion.

  • Shows responsibility by entering goods-received notes (GRN) as soon as stock with an invoice is delivered, to ensure charging can be done.
  • Shows initiative in preparing for inventory.
  • Analyses goods-received notes (GRN) history, usage, net price, sales price, etc.
  • Issues Local Purchase Orders (LPOs) and prepares Excel sheets with all the required information.
  • Calculates net price, sales price, incorporates bonus, etc.
  • Prints inventory sheets, enters count into the system, and performs all other duties related to taking inventory bi-annually.
  • Demonstrates awareness of all protocols and procedures for receiving stock.
  • Liaises with pharmaceutical companies regarding short-expired or expired stock.
  • Performs any additional duties as required e.g. administration duties like filing, clerical work, photocopying, etc.
  • Works accurately (pack sizes correct, correct supplier when ordering, etc.).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or related field

PERSONAL EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimium of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in the Outpatient Pharmacy field.
  • Knowledge of all protocols and procedures for receiving stocks, handling returned or expired stock or exchanging for handling (‘stock swap’).
  • Knowledge of Pharmacy re-order system, and procedures for obtaining quotes for non-registered products.
  • Knowledge of Middle Eastern customs preferred.
  • Skills in Basic understanding of personal computers; computer literacy.
  • Ability to speak and write in English fluently.
  • Experience with pharmaceutical products and companies preferred.
