ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES MOST IMPORTANT TO GET THE JOB DONE):
Carter’s is seeking a highly skilled and analytical leader to join the team as the Marketing Analytics Sr Manager. This role will be responsible for data science customer modeling, developing and executing marketing forecasting strategies, analyzing customer data, measuring personalization test results, and providing valuable insights to drive informed decision-making. The ideal candidate is proficient in marketing analytics tools, possesses strong statistical and forecasting skills, has a deep understanding of marketing metrics and trends, and can work collaboratively with business partners. The role will support Marketing and personalization and collaborate across teams including Ecommerce, merchandising, stores and IT.
The Marketing Analytics Sr. Manager will play a critical role by analyzing customer engagement with personalized offers and content to identify opportunities for incremental value-added improvements. This individual will collaborate closely with data science teams, leveraging advanced tools to enhance customer segmentation and forecasting models. Additionally, they will provide actionable recommendations to optimize marketing spend efficiency, ensuring impactful resource allocation. This individual will report to the Sr. Director of Marketing Analytics & Customer Growth.
(40%) Customer Analytics and Performance Measurement
- Customer Insights: Analyze customer behavior and journey data to uncover actionable insights that inform marketing strategies.
- Performance Reporting: Build dashboards and reports to track the effectiveness of personalized offers and content.
- Campaign Analysis: Evaluate marketing campaigns’ success, providing recommendations to improve ROI and customer engagement.
- Channel Optimization: Assess performance across different channels (email, web, mobile) to identify opportunities for personalization enhancements.
(30%) Customer Modeling
- Segmentation Models: Create and maintain advanced customer segmentation models to enable personalized targeting.
- Propensity Models: Develop models to predict customer likelihood of responding to specific offers or content.
- Lifetime Value (CLV) Modeling: Build CLV models to identify high-value customers and inform retention strategies.
- Real-Time Personalization: Work with platforms like Pega to implement and refine models for real-time offer and content personalization.
(20%) Customer Forecasting and Measurement
- Predictive Forecasting: Develop forecasting models to predict customer engagement and purchase behaviors.
- Business Impact Estimation: Estimate the potential impact of marketing personalization strategies on revenue and customer retention.
- Scenario Planning: Use advanced forecasting techniques to simulate the outcomes of various marketing strategies and budget allocations.
- Trend Analysis: Monitor and forecast customer trends to stay ahead of evolving preferences and market dynamics.
(10%) Data Science Process and Best Practices
- Create and maintain a scalable data science ecosystem to support marketing initiatives, not limited to feature engineering design, model recommendations, model accuracy testing
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in data science and recommend new tools and techniques to improve data analysis processes.
- Establish best practices for collaboration, reproducibility, and continuous improvement in data science workflows.
WE’D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF:
- Proven experience in an analytical role for 7+ years
- SQL and Advanced Excel experience required
- Experience with marketing, customer, loyalty, or customer journey analysis
- Experience developing and working with forecasting models
- Experience developing and explaining A/B test measurement models
- Proficiency in statistical analysis tools such as R or Python, and experience with marketing analytics platforms (e.g., Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, CRM, Zeta)
- Proficiency in visual analytical tools such as Tableau, Microsoft PowerBI, etc.
- Marketing, customer, operations, supply chain or retail analytics experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field
- 3+ years experience leading teams and coaching data scientists and analytical individuals. May have up to 2 direct reports
Preferred skills and experience:
- Strong analytical and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally
- Experience with analytical platforms including Snowflake database, Snowpark, Jupyter Notebook/Hub, and Datarobot
- Proven success influencing and collaborating within a team and in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong critical thinking skills and creative approaches to test new ideas and drive business results.
- Experience with project life-cycle management tools (e.g., JIRA and Confluence)
- Personalization, customer journey, and segmentation experience is a plus
- Understanding of digital marketing channels (Email, SMS, push, SEO, SEM, Social etc.)
