Senior Manager, Machine Learning

This role is eligible for our hybrid work model: Two days in-office.

The Senior Manager, Machine Learning will lead a team of skilled data scientists and machine learning engineers in developing integrated machine learning solutions deployed at scale. This role requires a deep understanding of machine learning algorithms, strong leadership skills, and a strategic mindset to drive innovation and operational excellence.

In this role you will get to:

  • Leadership & Management:

    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of machine learning engineers and data scientists.

    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.

    • Provide technical guidance and support to team members.

  • Strategic Planning:

    • Identify opportunities to apply machine learning to solve business problems and drive innovation.

  • Project Management:

    • Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of machine learning projects, from ideation to deployment and monitoring.

    • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

    • Manage project risks and communicate progress to stakeholders.

  • Technical Expertise:

    • Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models and algorithms.

    • Stay current with the latest advancements in machine learning and incorporate relevant techniques into the team’s work.

    • Ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of machine learning systems.

  • Collaboration & Communication:

    • Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate machine learning solutions into products.

    • Communicate complex machine learning concepts and results to non-technical stakeholders.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into machine learning solutions.

Who you are:

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field.

  • 8+ years of experience in machine learning, data science, or a related field.

  • Proven track record of leading and managing high-performing teams.

  • Extensive experience in developing and deploying machine learning models in a production environment and data pipelines.

  • Proficiency in Python

  • Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, statistical methods, data preprocessing techniques and experiment design.

  • Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and big data technologies (e.g., Spark).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

  • Strategic thinker with a passion for innovation and continuous learning.

  • Illustrated history of living the Priceline values:  Customer-focus, Innovation, Team-orientation, Accountability, and Trust. 

  • Experience with Pricing Modeling and/or Experience in the Hotel or B2B space preferred but not required. 

There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. In addition to a competitive base salary, certain roles may be eligible for an annual bonus and/or equity grant.

The salary range for this position is $145,000- $180,000K USD.

Flexible work at Priceline

Priceline is following a hybrid working model, which includes two days onsite as determined by you and your manager (ideally selecting among Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday). On the remaining days, you can choose to be remote or in the office.
