What you’ll be doing:
Build, lead and mentor teams or various disciplines including data scientists, machine learning engineers, software engineers, quality engineers, AI/ML operations specialists, etc.
Provide strategic guidance and career development support for team members, including setting clear performance expectations and offering continuous feedback.
Define, drive, and build the AI/ML strategy for the department, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and technical roadmaps.
Oversee the development and deployment of machine learning models, tools, and AI/ML-driven operations features, ensuring high performance, accuracy, and scalability.
Stay up to date with the latest advancements in AI/ML research and industry trends, leveraging them to influence technical decisions and strategic initiatives.
Define and drive automation initiatives in model training, deployment, and monitoring processes.
Collaborate with numerous stakeholders to discover and prioritize AI/ML strategic initiatives.
Establish robust evaluation metrics and KPIs to measure model effectiveness and performance.
Establish clear goals and objectives that align with Department and Corporate Game Plans
Oversee the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of AI/ML models in production.
Report status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to stakeholders
Ensure AI/ML operations comply with security standards and regulations.
Provision governance frameworks to securely manage data privacy throughout the AI/ML lifecycle.
Work with delivery partners, architects, and teams across CARFAX to support their AI/ML initiatives on the operations platform.
Reports to the Director of Data & AI/ML
What we’re looking for:
10+ years of experience as a software engineer, preferably with 2+ years of experience in AI/ML
5+ years of experience leading teams in an MLOPs or DevOps platform engineering role
Experience owning and creating positive team culture experiences and events.
Background in building/designing scalable enterprise software.
Experience with AWS or other related cloud platforms.
Technical expertise to evaluate and debate trade-offs in building scalable architecture.
Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code.
Proven experience managing production operations preferably in AI/ML, including model deployment, security, scalability, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
Proven track record of cross-functional project delivery
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
A track record of communicating well with executives and non-technical leaders.
BS in Computer Science/Engineering or related discipline
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in deploying large-scale AI/ML systems in production environments, especially within cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
Strong understanding of ethical AI/ML practices, bias mitigation, and explainable AI.
Experience working in a research-driven environment and collaborating with data science and research teams.
Exposure and interest in LLM Ops and Generative AI/ML applications and infrastructure
