Your role as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Apotea:

• Build, deploy, and own end-to-end ML systems – from prototyping to maintaining production models, ensuring scalability, reliability, and alignment with team strategy.
• Turn models into real-world solutions – integrate ML into products that deliver measurable business value.
• Apply MLOps and DevOps best practices – use CI/CD, IaC, and cloud native solutions to deploy and monitor models.
• Collaborate across teams – work with Data Engineers, Software Engineers, Tech Lead, and Product Owner to align on data, integrations, architecture, and goals.
• Define metrics and evaluation processes - establish performance metrics, evaluation and validation frameworks aligned with business logic and requirements
• Take proactive initiative - continuously identify and implement improvements to boost team productivity and solution quality
• Mentor junior engineers - provide technical guidance, code reviews, and care for the junior engineers in the team.

What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking Senior Machine Learning Engineers with diverse skills and a passion for solving complex problems. The ideal candidates will have experience building and deploying at least one AI application and have experience working across most stages of the ML lifecycle. We believe you have a broad skill set that includes most of the following skills:

• Data Engineering: Ability to manage and preprocess large datasets, with a solid understanding of data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Data Science: Experience with statistical modelling, data analysis, and algorithm development.
• Software / ML Engineering: Proficiency in at least one major programming language such as Python or Java, and familiarity with ML frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Cloud Computing: Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
• Language Skills: Proficiency in English or Swedish is required.
