The Senior Manager, Member-Centric Analytics works with stakeholders to formulate, gauge, and prioritize business use cases by designing experiments, predictive/prescriptive models on large-scale datasets to address them. The person in this role will use statistics, complex analyses, and machine learning models to drive member value and business success. Cooperating with the Machine Learning and IT DevOps teams the Senior Manager, Member-Centric Analytics will ensure operationalization and productization of solutions generated at an Enterprise level. Engage with business stakeholders and create meaningful and productive relationships with them to drive business change management, effective communication of analytics, and insights implementation to actions
Act as a subject matter expert in providing technical guidance and mentorship to peers on analytics and analysis best practices, solution design, as well as lead code/design reviews
Through initiation and driving of projects, provide meaningful insights using advanced analytics models and solutions targeted to respond to critical business issues and accelerate stakeholder growth and success
Partner with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize actionable, high-impact insights across a variety of core business areas
Deliver informative and effective findings, results, and recommendations from statistical analysis to stakeholders
Develop and lead a team of high-performing and engaged employees through effective people leadership practices including regular communication of performance expectations and feedback to employees to maintain high team performance; provide coaching and corrective action as required; actively support employee professional growth and development
Meet established department metrics; update leader on all major projects and goal progress;research, resolve and communicate operational andemployee issuesto leader or other business units as appropriate
Research, design, implement and validate cutting-edge algorithms/models analyzing diverse data sources to achieve targeted outcomes
Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data and the data pipelines used for analysis
Plan and implement experimental designs, performing statistical analysis on experimental data linked to Credit Union campaigns
Initiate and drive projects to completion, including supporting stakeholders in the integration of advanced analytics assets into their operational processes
Recommend ongoing improvements to methods and algorithms currently in production
Essential Skills
Minimum 8 years’ professional experience in a data science role, working with large amounts of data, and implementing end-to-end (inception to productization) solutions in the financial services industry
3+ years of managing and leading a team of data scientists; preferably in the financial services industry
Expert knowledge in coding; current hands-on experience in writing, reviewing, and/or correcting code within SQL, Python, and/or Spark
Expert knowledge of SQL and databases and demonstrated, recent hands-on experience with data science
Expert knowledge and experience in NLP, LLMs, predictive and prescriptive analytics approaches
Deep understanding of machine learning (ML) techniques including but not exhausted to clustering, classification, regression, decision trees, neural nets, support vector machines, genetic algorithms, anomaly detection, association rules, sequential pattern discovery and deep learning
Demonstrated experience withcommon business intelligence and data visualization tools (Tableau preferred)
Demonstrated experience with cloud-based Data Science platforms (Dataiku Data Science Studio preferred)
Professional experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, SaaS, MLaaS, AIaaS)
Proficiency in the use of scripting languages and ML platforms (Python, Spark, Snowpark, TensorFlow, R)
Experience with Snowflake preferred
Demonstrated experience with containers (Kubernetes, Docker), Git
Expert command of the English language, persuasive written and verbal communication and an ability to effectively tell stories with data
Comfortable with steering ambiguous projects toward clear business goals, testable hypotheses, and action-oriented outcomes
Ability to anticipate needs and prioritize projects in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and high-volume peaks while producing high-quality work
Exemplary communication skills; oral and written, with ability to translate complex statistical and quantitative analysis into simple real-real world inferences, telling the story through data, for both technical and non-technical audiences
Expert level analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Ability to motivate a team and operate effectively in an environment with high volumes and tight deadlines across a variety of business partners and technical contributors
Ability to translate business objectives into actionable analyses
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Minimum Education:Master’s or PhD degreesin Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Econometrics, or relevant fields
Certification/License: Data Science related certifications required
