The Digital R&D organization (DRD) at Covestro is responsible for innovative digital solutions for chemical product and application development. Experts in material simulations and computational chemistry, laboratory automation, R&D data science, high-performance computing, and quantum computing are among those who work in DRD. The department is expanding its team of scientists and software developers to harness the emerging possibilities of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the purpose of chemical and material science research. In particular, we intend to apply Large Language Models to better gain insight from unstructured data sources (like research reports or regulatory texts) and to increasingly support the chemical research process with artificial intelligence and creativity.
