ABOUT THE POSITION
We are seeking a Senior Games Tool Engineer with hands-on experience in game development and a solid foundation in machine learning. In this role, you’ll be responsible for building and maintaining high-impact tools and APIs that empower game developers, while collaborating closely with ML engineers to integrate cutting-edge AI capabilities into our production pipelines.
You should have deep expertise in game technologies and tool development, alongside 2+ years of experience working with ML systems, especially in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Large Language Models (LLMs).
- Design, develop, and maintain tools and pipelines for game production, integrating with game engines (Unreal, Unity) and DCC tools (Maya, Blender, Houdini).
- Develop and maintain REST APIs to connect internal ML/AI systems (MLaaS) with tools and services used by game developers.
- Support integration of AI/ML capabilities into content workflows and assist teams in utilizing ML-enhanced tools.
- Collaborate with ML engineers to ensure seamless deployment of models and tools.
- Stay current with trends and best practices in machine learning, NLP, and LLMs.
- Contribute to prompt crafting, safety systems, and model evaluation frameworks (e.g., railguards, prompt testing).
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in game tools development, technical art pipelines, or engine/DCC tool integration.
- 2+ years of experience in ML/AI systems integration or development.
- Proficiency in game engine technologies (Unreal, Unity) and DCC tools (Maya, Blender, Houdini).
- Familiarity with 3D data formats (FBX, GLTF, USD), rigging systems, or animation pipelines.
- Strong knowledge of REST API design and integration, including maintaining APIs used across production tools.
- Experience with MLaaS platform integration and API-based model serving.
- Solid understanding of NLP and LLMs, including inner workings (attention mechanisms, transformers, fine-tuning concepts).
- Familiarity with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow) and model formats (ONNX, checkpointing, conversion).
- Experience with prompt engineering and implementing railguards or safety layers.
- Comfortable working with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
Preferred Qualifications (Bonus):
- Experience training LLMs or other ML models from scratch.
- Strong understanding of Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) or ETL pipelines.
- Knowledge of classical AI or probabilistic modeling techniques.
- Familiar with model-context-protocol (MCP) for building agentic solutions and enable tool calling
- Familiarity with recent advancements in Generative AI, including image generation, 3D asset generation, animation, sound & music generation, and voice cloning.
- Experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS, for ML deployment and development environments.
