B GARAGE was founded in 2017 by a Ph.D. graduate from Stanford University. After having spent over five years researching robotics, computer vision, aeronautics, and drone autonomy, the founder and team set their minds on building a future where aerial robots would become an integral part of our daily lives without anyone necessarily piloting them. Mission of the Role

In the future, drones will be utilized across various industries and become an essential part of our daily lives. Our goal is to change people's perception of drones and expand the horizons of drone applications. We are looking for a Senior Firmware Engineer to join our team as a key player in driving technical excellence. As a Senior Firmware Engineer, you will be at the forefront of our technology initiatives, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and deliver innovative solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for the firmware development of the motion control board and various MCUs and DSPs. You will leverage your expertise to design and implement robust and reliable systems, ensuring optimal performance of our hardware products.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop firmware of motor and sensor control for drone stations

• Develop a gimbal control firmware

• Develop embedded firmware with various MCUs and Application processors

• Develop the battery management system and algorithm for calculating battery SoC and SoH

• Bootloader implementation of various products

• Collaborate with hardware and software teams within the company

Minimum Qualifications

• M.S. or Ph.D. in electrical, electronics, computer science, or other engineering disciplines

• Proficient with ROS and PX4 flight stack algorithms

• Experience in the development of gimbal, ESC, flight controller, RC transmitters, and optical flow modules

• Experience in field testing of mobile robots and aerial vehicles, specifically drones

• Experience in the development of a custom micro flight control unit or extensive customization of the PX4 flight stack

• Experience with flight testing with controller tuning for UAV platforms and post-flight analysis for control response improvements

• Literacy of Linux firmware and Linux-based systems, manufacturing process, and field problems troubleshooting skills

Optional Qualifications

• M.S. or higher in electronic/electrical engineering or related fields

• Experience in developing drones or robots

• Experience in robotics, mechatronics, various types of functional modules and signal type integration, and integrated boards

• Experience with Linux firmware and Linux-based systems

• Knowledgeable in manufacturing processes and on-site troubleshooting

• Experience working in a startup
