Senior Director, Software Engineering (Automation & AI)

Location: Sunnyvale, CA (or willing to relocate) 

Hybrid: 2 to 4 days at the office

We are looking for a seasoned Engineering leader to guide large, sophisticated software development and testing services. Do you have experience leading a global organization that builds and tests products? We are looking for you to join our team. 

The software engineering group at Juniper Networks is responsible for designing, developing, building, and releasing software and networking products. The software engineering group comprises of highly skilled professionals who are responsible in delivering production grade quality release and products through agile and adaptive engineering methodologies.

Software engineering Senior Director plays a key role by leading and managing the team of skilled professional engineers in qualifying solutions and use-case for Juniper customers. This role entails a highly skilled technical professional along with exemplary leadership qualities to meet business objectives. As a decision-maker, they would be responsible for planning the project work, managing team, promoting best practices, hiring talented professionals, and maintaining the ecosystem to maximize their direct-report employee’s potential. 

 Responsibilities:  

  • Successfully lead cultural, architectural, user experience, and software delivery transformations to achieve business goals. 
  • Create a medium to long-term (18-month) product engineering and testing strategy for business and revenue alignment.  
  • Partner closely with Product Management to help identify and drive customer outcomes.
  • Lead cross-engineering, architecture reviews, and alignment between User Design, Architecture, Engineering, and Product Management teams.  
  • Define and regularly review engineering metrics for predictable and repeatable value delivery to customers.  
  • Lead an agile software engineering culture with sustained and frequent value delivery.

Requirements: 

  • 15+ years of experience in leading large product development teams that demonstrate expertise in architecting and building systems. 
  • Proven ability to drive customer satisfaction, retention, and growth. 
  • Expertise in driving change management programs in a truly Agile fashion. 
  • Experienced in creating quality strategy and quality metrics for tracking large products. 
  • Ability to lead from the front and willingness to be hands-on when necessary.  
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build strong relationships with employees, customers, and stakeholders.

Minimum Salary: $240,000.00

Maximum Salary:$345,000.00

The pay range for this position is expected to be between $240,000.00 and $345,000.00/year; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, vacation, sick time, and parental leave. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Juniper’s pay range data is provided in accordance with local state pay transparency regulations. Juniper may post different minimum wage ranges for permanent residency petitions pursuant to US Department of Labor requirements.
