ViiV has been through a D&A transformation with significant investment in building advanced analytics and performance reporting capabilities and infrastructure. Whilst we have made huge progress there is still much to do to support ViiV’s ambitious plans for growth of launch brands and the successful launch of our emerging pipeline. This is where you come in! We are looking to further expand our data & analytics capabilities by bringing in an exceptional and experienced leader of people who can continue to build on our vision, strategy and strategic roadmap for data products and analytics services within ViiV’s global commercial organisation. Our current offering includes a well-established and continuously evolving next-best action product, multi-channel analytics, performance and digital dashboards and tools using AI and Gen AI to help make productivity leaps. Building, mentoring, and leading a team of Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Analysts and Business Partners you will be accountable for having an impact on the performance of our business and ultimately on the lives of people living with HIV.

With a portfolio of promoted in-line medicines and a full pipeline, ViiV Healthcare is looking for a forward-thinking Data, Analytics and AI lead to join the Global Commercial Strategy team. The HIV market is fiercely competitive; remaining aware of the dynamic external environment is important in support of the ambitious plan for ViiV company growth.

The successful candidate should be an excellent team leader, experienced in collaborating with a broad set of teams (including global, regional, local teams; medical, tech/IT and digital), across a complex organization and be able to successfully translate business requirements into products and tools that can help the organization stay ahead. The successful candidate should also be able to engage and work with senior leaders in the organization, providing confidence and tangible outputs to propel us on the journey.

Responsibilities include:

• Build, lead, coach and develop a team of people in a cross-functional global data & analytics team (comprising advanced analytics, performance reporting, digital analytics, and AI), with a laser focus on prioritizing efforts of the team to focus on the areas of greatest business value
• Take overall accountability for ongoing evolution and delivery of the ViiV data, analytics & AI roadmap across performance reporting/dashboards, digital analytics and advanced/predictive analytics ensuring that it aligns with ViiV’s short- and medium-term growth targets. To include:
  • Working cross-functionally with team members, business stakeholders, vendors, consultants, designers, developers, and peers to determine the right mix of established use cases/data products and innovation to drive business value
  • Providing business and technical guidance/challenge to the team of business translators, data scientists and business analysts to deliver the roadmap
  • Determining and securing the right mix of internal and external capabilities (business and technical) and acquiring the data assets required to deliver the roadmap
  • Using a clear framework to prioritize efforts in line with business value, track progress and course correct / prioritize as needed
• Work collaboratively with Digital, Tech, with teams within GSK and other internal ViiV teams like market access, medical, etc. to ensure we can fully leverage the expertise and capability within this team to its maximum effect for ViiV
• Establish and embed ways of working across the newly combined team, including:
  • Embedding an agile, sprint-based approach to delivery of our work
  • Identifying and taking advantage of the opportunities for synergy by bringing performance, digital and advanced analytics together
  • Working in partnership with their manager to determine clear accountabilities within the team and where relevant with other members of the D&A team, Global commercial leads, commercial regions, and local markets
• Oversee the monthly performance review (MPR) cycle for VLT (ViiV Leadership Team), including:
  • Running the annual process of adjusting / agreeing a small number of lead and lag KPIs to be tracked for each brand
  • Overseeing the target setting process on an annual basis
  • Ensuring timely and accurate reporting each month
• Prepare, maintain, and monitor respective budget(s) for external support, data purchases and consultancy work
• Actively look for opportunities to bring in innovation, learnings, and best practices into team’s work, including implementing industry standards and best practices for standard data consumption while also ideating new and innovative ways to deliver analytics & insights
• Excel at strategic agility, adapting team capabilities and resources to best meet the needs of internal and external customers, provide focus and direction to successfully navigate complexity, uncertainty, and ambiguity
• Manage the overall interface with Tech and Digital to ensure service delivery in line with expectations but also to build strong partnerships to facilitate knowledge sharing and joint projects going forward

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree required - Advanced degree in Computer Science, Computational Sciences, Business analytics or relevant field of study strongly desirable (area of specialization: Data, Tech, AI ideally)
• Pharma or life sciences experience
• Working knowledge of pharma primary, secondary data sources and experience leveraging secondary data to generate insights
• 8+ years of experience in managing and delivering data products, advanced analytics solutions, and digital analytics
• 8+ years of people management experience, leading a multi-disciplinary team including business analytics and data scientists
• Demonstration of capacity for strategic thinking plus strong analysis skills and a creative/innovative approach to problem solving, strong problem solving/framing abilities
• Strategic and Analytical Mindset
• Excellent communication skills; able to create simplicity from complexity, expert narrative development/storytelling
