 What will your role look like?

 As a Senior Data Specialist you will contribute to our AI auditing team performing sociotechnical analysis, reviewing and analyzing data, coding and creating audit   audit reports, publications, and other audit-related content.

 The successful candidate will have +5 years of sound experience in AI auditing, AI bias, and/or responsible AI with a focus on practical application. They will be eager to collaborate with a diverse and motivated team and help shape a more ethical future in technology.

Your key responsibilities: 

• Drive the creation and refinement of the s​cientific principles underlying our innovative tools designed to measure, monitor, and mitigate bias in AI systems.
  
• Direct the implementation of quantitative methodologies, including overseeing data collection processes, coding initiatives, metric development, and comprehensive analysis of results.
  
• Utilize advanced statistical tools and qualitative analysis methods to conduct thorough sociotechnical analyses, ensuring audits are robust, applicable, and actionable in real-world scenarios.
  
• Partner with cross-functional teams to enhance existing products and spearhead the development of new solutions that meet evolving client needs and market demands.
  
• Managing project documentation and communicating with stakeholders and clients.
  
• ​Stay updated on the latest developments in AI auditing and research to inform project activities.
  

Requirements

Must-have skills: 

• Fluency in English 
  
• Advanced Degree in Relevant Field: A degree or specialization in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. 
  
• Proven track record of at least 5-7 years in AI, machine learning, or a related field, with a strong emphasis on bias detection and mitigation. 
  
• Deep understanding and hands-on experience with statistical analysis, data collection, coding, and developing metrics. Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, and tools like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar.
  
• Demonstrated experience in conducting AI audits, including the application of both statistical tools and qualitative analysis methods to perform comprehensive sociotechnical analyses. 
  
• Experience collaborating on the development of AI-based products, with an ability to translate client needs and market demands into practical solutions. 
  
• Proven capability in managing complex projects, including documentation and stakeholder communication. Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies. 
  
• Commitment to staying current with the latest research, developments, and best practices in AI auditing and ethical AI. 
  
• Ability to work effectively within a team, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. 
  
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and solve complex problems related to AI bias and auditing. 
  
• Deep understanding of the ethical implications of AI and a commitment to developing fair and unbiased AI systems. 
  

And some nice-to-haves… 

• Experience working in remote and cloud-based environments with autonomy and self-accountability.
  
• Experience in working in environments such as Agile, Scrum or similar methodologies.
  
• A lifelong learning attitude.
  
• Analyze Generative AI systems to assess the risks of these applications. Ability to detect hallucinations, sentiment, moderation, and apply prompt engineering for the creation of LLM-as-a-judge systems.
