We are looking for Senior Data Scientists (all genders) to join the Vendor Sales domain of the Vendor Data tribe in our mission to deliver consistently amazing experiences.

You will work alongside other data professionals designing and deploying advanced models to solve complex problems, delivering revenue for Delivery Hero at the frontline of our growth & profitability journey.

We have developed a range of products to facilitate more effective vendor acquisition and onboarding processes, improve the quality of the vendor supply on our platforms, and drive the affordability and better choice for our customers.

The tribe comprises teams of skilled analysts, engineers, and scientists working together to deliver data  solutions covering a host of business opportunities across all of Delivery Hero’s 70+ markets.

Your mission: 

• Drive the development and implementation of advanced machine learning models for menu digitisation services, vendor acquisition strategies, and competitive intelligence insights platform. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the efficiency and performance of the machine learning models in Vendor Sales.

• Analyse large-scale datasets to understand and identify opportunities deploying sophisticated statistical techniques to improve decision making in vendor acquisition and mapping out our competitor landscape.

• Lead research initiatives to explore emerging trends and technologies in machine learning, contributing to the advancement of Delivery Hero's digital sales products and algorithms. Stay informed about industry developments and incorporate new methodologies and best practices into our data science workflows.

• Serve as a subject matter expert in data science and machine learning, providing guidance and mentorship to other team members and fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the data science team.

Qualifications

• You excel at modelling business problems using machine learning techniques covering feature engineering, model selection and design as well as evaluation and optimisation to deliver value to the business. 

• You enhance the performance of other team members through mentorship and constructive collaboration to benefit others from your deep understanding and experience of data science.

• You have expertise in building and training advanced machine learning models with strong knowledge of the Python data toolkit ideally centering around Pandas, CatBoost, and PySpark. Experience with natural language processing or large language models is a plus.

• Through the fluent use of SQL queries you are able to explore our data universe and gather data to support your analysis and the development of machine learning solutions.

• You write clean, production-level code and effectively use software versioning, ideally Git.

• You are familiar with deploying and developing in cloud systems, ideally GCP.

• You love to learn, are a critical thinker and creative problem solver who strives for excellence.

• You are a team player who loves to collaborate and work with stakeholders from different tech teams in a diverse environment.

Nice to have:

• Hands-on experience with large language models or natural language processing problems.

• Experience deploying complex models to serve live traffic and collaborating with ML engineers in creating efficient systems that integrate ML models following good MLOps practices.

• Experience in working on digital sales data product development would be a great benefit.
