ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

The Knot Worldwide is actively seeking a skilled Senior Data Scientist to become an integral part of our Data Science team. This role is centered around utilizing advanced analytics and statistical methods to empower our non-wedding brands with insights that optimize performance. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will develop analytical tools, conduct ad-hoc analyses, and assist in correlating user activity with product and marketing initiatives. Your involvement will extend to statistical modeling, investigations, and visualizations, collaborating with various teams to drive measurable outcomes. As a member of the wider Data organization within TKWW, your primary focus will be on constructing analytic models and designing as well as analyzing experiments to quantify the impact of your contributions. In this capacity, you will serve as both a valued partner and trusted advisor, playing a pivotal role in our data-driven decision-making process across the Data and Marketing departments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Taking a proactive leadership role in shaping the strategy and direction of teams dedicated to transforming and innovating our non-wedding brands, The Bump and The Bash, leveraging collaborative approaches and innovative thinking to drive successful outcomes
  • Conducting in-depth analysis of TKWW user behavior to identify growth opportunities that enhance our product experiences
  • Using descriptive statistical and modeling techniques like hypothesis testing, regression, classification, and clustering to augment data analyses and insights
  • Designing & analyzing A/B testing experiments
  • Forecasting and simulating hypotheticals to deliver early potential signals before large initiatives start
  • Building out self-serve reports, capabilities, and applications for partners within the organization
  • Maintaining a deep understanding of the product, relevant data products, and past experiments and analyses
  • Recognizing opportunities for new data products and integrations and work with business partners to implement them
  • Working with Product Managers,engineers, and designers to ensure appropriate tracking is in place
  • Communicating, collaborating, and presenting results to partners within TKWW

SUCCESSFUL SENIOR DATA SCIENTISTS HAVE:

  • Fluency in English
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in data science and analytics roles within technology brands, with a preference for experience in a two-sided marketplace or e-commerce domain.
  • Advanced knowledge of statistics including hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and forecasting, and hands-on experience with A/B testing design and analysis.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and ability to write efficient SQL code
  • Ability to code in Python for data manipulation, visualization, and analysis using Jupyter notebooks
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex concepts to audiences of varying technical proficiency.
  • Experience in using and building self-service analytics tools.
  • A strategic mindset capable of translating business problems into analytics opportunities and solutions.
  • A collaborative attitude that fosters a culture of data-driven decision making across the organization.
  • An innovative spirit that thrives on exploring new ideas and approaches to solve challenging problems.
  • Experience and/or understanding of search, ranking, and recommendation technologies.
