This position requires an active Secret clearance required.
The Senior Data Scientist will help shape policy, strategy, and support services for data management and artificial intelligence/machine learning for the US Space Force CTIO. You will work as part of a team with other contractors, government civilians, and military personnel in an agile environment.
Responsibilities
The Senior Data Scientist duties may include:
- Support Agile project management over data activities, support development of a data management framework.
- Define and execute techniques to integrate, consolidate, and structure data for analytical use.
- Research, analyze, and document various technical approaches in data management and AI/ML.
- Maintain data dictionaries IAW DoD and DAF policies and standards.
- Develop briefing packages to communicate complex ideas to non-technical customers.
- Support the development and coordination of policies and governance to employ digital tools, effectively manage data, and enhance the information technology infrastructure.
- Propose alternative designs and processes to manage various types of data using both standard and custom tables and fields.
- Interact professionally with the government and government stakeholders.
- Work directly with the customer to gather requirements and product feedback for future iterations.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and provide timely resolutions.
Qualifications
Minimum
- 10+ years of data science experience.
- Superior communication skills, both oral and written.
- Advanced proficiency in Python.
- Experience in AI/ML
- Knowledge of statistical/machine learning algorithms.
- Skill in conducting queries and developing algorithms to analyze data structures.
- Plan and conduct complex analytical, mathematical, and statistical research that informs operational requirements.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite to include Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- High energy, enthusiasm, tact, ability to effectively interact with senior executives from Government and industry.
- Ability to create and foster a cooperative work environment.
- Self-directed, detail oriented in completing assigned tasks, able to adapt to changing work efforts and manage impact of shifting priorities.
- Availability for occasional travel.
- Possess and maintain an active Top Secret U.S. Government security clearance. US Citizenship required.
Preferred
- Feature analysis experience: understanding and manipulating the variables in a dataset to improve the performance of a machine learning model.
- Experience with DoD data management or AI/ML policies and standards.
- Familiarity with USSF missions
- Possess and maintain an active Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance.
